Martyn
Hi1st post for me on this forum.I am returning to the hobby after a 13 year break and cutting my teeth on a Cambrian P-51 funfighter. I'm half way through this little kit and at 42 inch w/span was wondering what scale this equates too? 1/10 or 1/12? Any thoughtsrgdsMart
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Welcome Martyn. Why not look up the spec for the P51 on Wiki, find the wing span - convert it to inches then divide by 42 - and "Robert's yer mother's brother", out will pop the scale factor. Concorde Speedbird
1/12 I think. Great plane, my Dad had one with an Enya 19-20, very fast! CS
Concorde Speedbird
I am wrong, full size P51 has a span of 37 feet, 444 inches, put that over 42 and you get 10.57, so about 1/10. CS
Colin Leighfield
It's close to 1/10. The P51 is the same as a Spitfire at just under 37' span, 10x42" gives you 35', so it's close to that. Actually about 10.5.
Martyn
Many thanks for your replies, now managed to find a correct sized pilot and looked at having a set of decals made for it. Mart
