Chris Bott - Moderator
So - Anyone thinking of coming this weekend? We are getting more and more interest, but as it's free and weather dependant, no one ever commits to attending. So we are into panic week! It's always the same. Fingers crossed for the weather anyway!
Tim Mackey
Weather looking a little iffy Chris - I will keep everything crossed. Hope to make the July event ( if I get the infamous pass out ) Mrs Timbo / my accountant / learner flyer will probably be in tow.
Danny Fenton
"Pass outs" are getting rare I know......... Yes weather looking a bit grim, but since when have they got it right. They forecast bad weather last year and it was sunny so you just never know. We are hoping to have a webcam running pointing at the field/flightline so that may help? though the british weather changes pretty quickly. Thtas if Chris gets a chance to set it up. Danny Fenton
Just checked the latest weather forecast and they are predicting the highest temperatures in recorded history just over Aldridge airfield, calm winds, and it wont get dark in the evnings to halt flying.Shame Carslberg don't do fly-ins............. Chris Bott - Moderator
Well the weather gods didn't do us any favours at our first funfly, but a good time was still had by all that attended.Everything is now in place for our biggest annual event this weekend (27th/27th July)We have had interest and promises from quite a number of display squadrons, and quite a few huge models, including big electrics too. The biggest and best burger van we have ever had is booked, along with bouncy castles (not intended for soft landings!) and other kids attractions. The strip is bigger, flatter and closer mown than ever too, the new mower we bought at the start of the year is really doing a great job.All we can do is pray for the weather now - there must be some decent flying weather this summer! If you can't attend, take a look at http://greenacresmac.co.uk I will be attempting to keep a webcam running through the event. Sadly, I couldn't set that up last time because of the rain..
Danny Fenton
Getting closer to the event, heard a rumour we may have some entertaining guest flyers courtesy of Wilson (YT International). Forecast is looking better than of late, keeping our fingers crossed surely this foul weather has to end soon
Danny Fenton
We set up some of the field last evening and the weather today is great, sunshine and light winds, and no thats not a leg pull. Hopefully it will continue for the weekend

Danny Fenton
Thx, we will do our best. It looks like the remote controlled camera on the flight line is suffering a battery pack exhaustion, so sorry for the loss of signal for a bit, we will get a new pack plugged in asap, of course it happened when Chris was away from the field collecting stuff from home and we don't like to trust batteries to these IC guys, you know what they are like
