Chris Downing
I read in the February RCM&E that Tony Nijhuis has built a 'marine' version of the Vickers Wellington. Is this in fact the coastal command variety?I am interested because my Dad flew in Coastal Command wimpies from 1943 to 1945.I have always fancied this as a modelling subject (Although I'm a long way off flying a model like this!) and I have seen a few photos of the type from the 1940s, so I wonder if there are any more details yet?Does the model have the Leigh-light and radome that coastal command wimpies became fitted with? COLIN HOWARD
I have never written to anyone before so please bear with me.Are listening Tony Nijhuis!!A suggestion for your next single engined aircraft build. How about a Grumman Avenger.Just imagine Big radial cowl simple U/C a turret, large bomb bay and all that glazing.About 60 or 70in span and electric of course.I would be the first to buy a plan.
