Martin Whybrow
I'm gradually getting organised after our house move a while ago and I've decided to try and get the Black Horse Bird Dog maidened. When I rescued the fuselage from it's safe hiding place I found the top hatch is missing; I can't find the hatch anywhere and can only conclude that it was lost in the house move Problem is that I can't find anyone listing this as a spare part; does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can get one? cymaz
Could a top hatch be made from odds and sods in your scrap box?
Martin Whybrow
I'm sure it could; I'm pretty sure I bought a roll of matching Oracover when I got the 'kit' so that would be rather useful.
Stevo
Don't even try and contact Blackhorse. I'm after a cowl.. I filled in thier webform 4 times, no reply. I emailed them, and it bounces back everytime...
Martin Whybrow
That sounds like my dealings with Ripmax Edited By Martin Whybrow on 22/08/2014 19:36:
Seraph
Martin, I've recently maidened one of those so I'd be very interested to hear how you get on when you get to that point. I found that, to get it to go round corners reliably, I had to use quite a lot of aileron differential and mix quite a lot of rudder with the ailerons. IIRC, the instructions suggest quite a bit of aileron differential. Incidentally, what C of G position did you use? There seem to be 2 versions of the manual with different figures, and several people have suggested neither are correct.
Seraph
I don't recall anything in the instructions about differential - I usually start with some when I first set a plane up. I started with the most forward cg of those recommended and then, after the first flight, added yet another wheel balancer to calm it down. I can't tell you the exact position now without re-assembling it. Sorry, I don't have a spare cabin hatch.
