Chris Bott - Moderator
Some chaps getting a little excited here, but it's not every day you get a visit like this at the flying field. BEWARE - THERE IS SOME BAD LANGUAGE IN THIS VIDEO. DO NOT WATCH IF YOU MIGHT BE OFFENDED.
Mowerman
My guess is that the pilot is a fellow modeler just giving the chaps a treat. On the other hand he could be moonlighting for a wind-farm company looking for suitable sites. Mark a
Nice vid just let down by in my opinion by the over used OMG saying, if it was filmed in the states I could understand it as that's all they seem to say.

Philip Ogden
Amazing experience. It's one thing to see an aircraft like this at an airshow but totally different to see one out of the blue - literally. Reminds me of the time I was flying a PA-28 when a Spitfire, MH434 flown by Paul Bonhomme flew alongside less than 100yards away. An experience of a lifetime! Dave Hopkin
Whats it feel like to get a Talibans eye view of a Apache? Did you notice the red laser spot on your forehead? Dave - Jealously Dept.........
Dave Bran
We get the Met Polices Heli close up and personal fairly regularly, due "incidents" on the adjacent big overspill council estate, perhaps they could do with that bird instead..................... Pete B
Given the raised security level and the request to BMFA members earlier this year, I reckon it was more than a social visit - probably checking to see if any of the modellers had beards.... Bob Bertram
Not quite as exciting or close up but whilst kayaking off Sea Palling a few years ago we had a little display from an autogyro. No OMGs either! https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10150388522457541&set=vb.680002540&type=2&theater
Wiltshire Flyer
Wow! We have one here regularly in the sky, but to have one come close like that? I would have fainted!!! Jamie toe rags!!!!
Mowerman
On a day trip to Lundy a few years ago an air sea rescue Wessex carried out a practice pick-up from the ferry. The 'casualty' was first winched down to the ferry the the heli circled round and re-positioned to lower the winch-man who then collected the 'casualty. and was winched back up. During this time the ferry kept going at normal speed whilst the heli held its position. Just watching this from the ship's deck was worth the cost of the trip. Griffin Emter
I once heard an Apache doing aerobatics at the airport next door... Hangers blocked my view, but I caught a few glimpses. Lots of thundering, rotor smacking, etc. to be heard.
Cuban8
Get Apaches and Chinooks skimming our chimney pots when they're on exercise with the troops on the nearby ranges of Colchester Garrison.
Daithi O Buitigh
Best one I can recall (apart from the Spit and Hurricane from the then Air Historical Flight at RAF Coltishall that used to beat up our billets on Monday mornings when we were trying to get some kip after the midnight - 0800 watch duty) was helping supervise a bunch of secondary school kids on a weekend in Donegal (to help their spoken Irish). We took them on a day trip to Tory Island and had a demo of an AS365 Dauphin doing a winched landing and retrieval of a bod. Unfortunately on the way up he sort of flipped over and, for a while, was going up feet first until he managed to haul himself round Edited By Daithi O Buitigh on 28/12/2015 00:49:
