  1. I've used Hitec metal geared servo's on Aileron's and Elevator and standard servo's on everything else and a 6v nimh pack runs it all just fine. I'll weigh the model next time i'm in the workshop to see what it actually weigh's.
  2. Well after much delay I finally flew my cub for the first time today. The Laser 80 pulled it along just fine with power to spare. Take off was uneventful and no trimming needed but it was a bit windy so we'll see in less windy conditions. All in all a good day.
  3. I don't think I even bothered to balance mine just chucked in the recommended battery and flew it trimmed it out and that was that, been my hack ever since.
  4. I think the drone flyer was to represent the many inexperienced pilots that turned up on squadrons during the battle with only a hand full of hours on type. All in all an enjoyable program.
  5. Really enjoyed the show today some really nice flying in almost perfect conditions. I think the LMA shows take some beating in my opinion long may they continue.
  6. Went to the Nats yesterday for the first time all in all a good day out.
  7. I have a log burner in my 12x12 warms it up a treat.
  8. I've had both old and new DX8's and have had no issues with either of them so Spektrum gets a thumbs up from me. As has been said above the Radian pro is rubbish, I have the XL and its a really nice flyer and you can almost park it in the sky and it will more or less stay where you put it. Sure the tail wobbles a bit but I've never had any issues with it just loads of nice relaxed flying. The standard Radian is a good entry powered glider but don't discount the XL as its just as good but has more presence in the air due to its size.
  9. I had flaperons programmed on my Wot4 XL but they didn't make a huge amount of difference due to the wotty's big wing. I had a foamie wot 4 and could land that at walking pace but your strip does sound like a challenge so you could try to side slip it in which will give you a fare amount of drag to help slow it down.
  10. I'm happy to wait until things become a bit clearer until then happy flying everyone.
  11. I was wondering if we end having to register our models there will undoubtedly be a cost involved which could be per model which could be expensive which could in turn drive people away from the hobby which would be a real shame.New technology is fine for those who want to use it but I wouldn't want a model aircraft to fly itself there is no fun in that. I'm all for safety our club fly's from a grass strip used by full size stuff with no issues just a big portion of common sense. A blanket legislation would in my view do our hobby no good at all.
  12. On the plus side its one less to worry about.
  13. Had a great day at Cosford today a job very well done by the LMA as usual, other show organizers take note. Didn't buy anything just really enjoyed the models and the superb flying. Star of the show for me was the huge Fokker 70 airliner.
  14. Looking forward to going Saturday although it could be damp at times according to the forecast.
