Ian Bagshaw
Hi, Just getting back into this after a long break, I have been offered a spectrum transmitter & receiver, but I have lots of old Futaba servos some very high spec, can I use these on a spectrum system? Many Thanks
Dave Hopkin
You will certainly have to file to tab off the servo plugs, but that's no biggie, as far as I know they should work ok
Ian Bagshaw
Many thanks, I'm thinking I may go with Futaba rather than start to file bits off.
Shaunie
Just cut the tabs off with a scalpel and go flying. I've got lots of Futaba servos on Spektrum receivers. Shaunie. Edited By Shaunie on 27/11/2014 22:54:
Simon Chaddock
Ian As far as I am aware only Futaba use the 'handed' servo plugs and sockets. Every one else uses an identical plug but without the tab. So any servo plug will go into a Futaba socket but a Futaba servo will not go into any other socket without the tab being cut off first. The Futaba servo plug is on the left but in all other respects they are identical. Of course there is nothing wrong with Futaba gear (quality but expensive?) but It would seem a pity to base your radio selection on some tiny pits of plastic on the servo plugs that you happen to have.
