kc
Anyone going to the London Model Engineering show at Alexandra Palace this Friday, Saturday & Sunday? Details It is more engineering than aircraft but the BMFA always have a stand with continuous indoor flying display. Model plane building for kids and a simulator usually. I always find it worthwhile to go and see what other modellers are doing. Model boats and the engineering techniques have quite a lot in common with aeromodelling and it's always worth seeing what ideas we can use. Don't expect to be able to buy balsa or much specialist model plane stuff but there will be lots of tools and general modelling supplies like glues etc from 5 Star/ Shop4Glue. Component -Shop will be there with electric flight stuff etc My tip - don't walk up the very steep hill from the station - get the free bus! I will be there on Friday I expect..... kc
It's the place for tools and also a handy place to ask any engineering questions at the SMEE stand. Always really interesting people there with years of practical experience who explain their gadgets and answer questions.
Robin Kearney
Hi kc, I'll be making my yearly pilgrimage on Saturday, its a great general modelling show as you say. The indoor is always a great spectacle. My 4 year old loves the RC trucks and tanks. I'm hoping to pick up some small drill bits and a few clamps Have a good time tomorrow. r.
