That should generate 26MJ of power under perfect conditions; obviously there will be losses, but figure on 15MJ or 15 MegaWatt seconds if my maths is correct. Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator Posted May 23, 2015 Share Posted May 23, 2015 Interesting. But is a 5kg MR with a 1kg payload capacity, performance impressive enough to justify the likely cost? A similar weight LIpo powered multi-rotor would have a much larger payload capacity. Admittedly it would also have a shorter duration! But I'm just wondering if the margin this technology is giving is really enough to trigger its commercial success. 1Kg is not much in terms of the payload typically lifted by commercial drones these days.
