Trim settings

Hi All

I'm new to drones and rc in general!

And me being me I've decided to jump in at the deep end!!

I have recently received my Storm 250 drone and I've started to realise I have a very steep learning curve ahead of me!!

The main problem I have is that with the supplied battery fitted it is very back heavy. So when I try to take off the rear stays on the floor. If I add a bit of forward on the control it lifts off, then shoots forward. It also seems to lean to the left (when facing from the rear).

It came with a Devo 7 controller and I have found out how to adjust the trim, I just don't know which way to adjust it.

The controller has a default of 4/20 on the trim.

Is adjusting the trim the answer to my problem?

Any help would be gratefully received

Many thanks Roy

Thanks for the reply.

I have watched this video and he says about ensuring the drone is balanced before flying.

However even with the battery pushed as far forward as possible it will not balance. It still is back heavy.

this is why I was asking about trim adjustment.

It seems the supplied battery is to heavy.

thanks again Roy

Cant help you directly but if any flying machine has the CoG in the wrong position its never going to be a happy flying machine no matter how much trim you throw at it

And dont forget balance has to be right front to back and side to side.....

Thanks for the help smiley

I've managed to sort out the CoG (I think)

Had to trim the plastic cover a little to free up the wires on the battery and this means the battery sits almost 5mm further forward.

Haven't had a chance to test it out yet, but fingers crossed.

If the rear not lifting off with the CoG level is still a problem, would this be a trim issue??

Thanks again Roy
