Rip Peter, I always enjoyed his anecdotes of his air force service. Condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed.

Custom duties on a used model from outside the UK?
Eamonn Fahey replied to Jonathan M's topic in All Things Model Flying
Also be aware, if Customs & Excise thinks you & the sender are under valuing the Item. They have been known here in Ireland to Google the item and charge duty based on the higher value. The tinternet isn't just useful for us. I have a friend who is a postman, he collects obscure CD's & Vinyl (he's a nice bloke really), he has had C & E check on-line for the value of an item. Brexit, just keeps giving. 😁 -
I bought those plans a couple of years ago. They are a direct copy of the Cambrian drawings. I would also like a copy of the building instructions if anyone has them tucked away. What has stopped me making an attempt at building the model is the lack of engine cowls. I could possibly make them using Peter Millers pop bottle method. 🙂 The other difficulty is the front fuselage/cockpit is also a moulding which, I imagine, would be difficult to make. If someone had an original cockpit, I would have a go at making a fibreglass copy. 😁

Great to see that there are still considerate and generous suppliers around. Well done HobbyKing. -
Posted by Martyn K on 02/02/2018 15:04:56: Do you know what diameter Sanding disk is used? Martyn, the sander was available in Ireland from yesterday. The diameter of the disc is 125mm. There are 6 discs included - 2 X 80; 2 X 150 & 2 X 240 grit. They did not have any spare discs available but according to the instructions, they are available to order (no price). Eamonn.

Hi Brian, there is a Doppler 'speed radar' available for iPhones. You will need someone else to hold your phone but it is quite accurate.

Thanks John. That is very neat. The Saws were available on Sunday here in Ireland . I fancy a smallish bench saw for Balsa & Ply and, maybe, ripping my own Spruce spars and stringers.
