Slope Combat Competition .

Recommended Posts

One of our local guys here in S Wales is organising a slope combat competition, which is to be held at the Bwlch, (20 mins north of Bridgend), on the 3rd/4th December. Its a light hearted competition with mixed heats.

England v Wales

There are no restrictions on wings/models.

Individual trophies for 1st, 2nd & 3rd are up for grabs.

Fancy dress is a must.

Due to the long distances people will be travelling, a decision will be taken a couple of days before as to which day the event will take place on.

We hope to see you there, the more, the merrier.

More details will be posted on the Facebook Slope Soaring in Wales group page and also on my blog, A470Soaring where details of the Bwlch can be found on the Flying Sites page .

So this weekends competition is taking shape and it looks like this event will take place on Sunday at the Bwlch, nr Bridgend, S Wales.

Currently there are two teams of 8, but unfortunately something has come up and I can no longer make the event crying

With a 22 mph easterly forecast for Cardiff airport, this will mean wind speeds on the slope of over 30 mph. It also means that flying will take place on the huge slope called "The Crest",

Competitors will meet at the Wrecker lay-by at 10:30 am where the final decision as to the choice of which slope to fly will take place and a welcome/safety chat will take place.

All are welcome, just turn up on the day.
