Dai Fledermaus
Normally photographs are added to a magazine article, to support the article in some way and to add some visual interest. As someone who has done more that his fair share of valve grinding on car and motorcycle engines over the years, I was interested to read how it related to model engines. Try as I might though, I couldn't see the point of including photographs of the sadly neglected Mills engine or the impressive Alpha diesel designed by Richard Gordon. I would have liked more information about both, but there was no mention of them in the article. Were they just included for some padding? Jonathan W
There was very little of substance in the article, which seems to be common for the author I'm afraid. In this case, he took pages of waffle to say that we should not grind model engine valves in the same way as full size automotive engines. Well I never!!! I wish the editor would hold the author to account on his profligate waffle.
