david archer 4
Hi I found a post from Paul Newell 2007 I think. I built the Microtrol system when it first came out with parts from chap in Sunderland. It did work with a little help from an electronics engineer/scope etc. It was used only once resulting in a crass which quite put me off! I still have the set but it is now not working - no RF output from the TX. Anybody with any suggestions on the fault? Dave
Alan Gorham_
Could it be that the Tx crystal is not fitted or is faulty? You say that the only time you used the set it caused a crash - could this crash have been caused by a fault that caused the Tx to stop Txing? GEOFFREY PIKE 1
You dont give use much to go on when u say there is no RF output. The old simple tests of listeneing on a domestic FM radio may indicate if the xtal oscillator is in fact oscillating. For example 27 x 3 = 81 MHz or 27 x 4 =108 MHz so there is a chance you could confirm the crystal is working I built my Microtrol back in the day from probably the same source, still have it. cheers Geoff
