Phil Winks
Just look at this for a rough landing glad I wasn't on it. I've tried this one with less success
birdy
The rough landing was not bad; it was absolutely brilliant. If you ever fly with flight sims, you will appreciate how good that landing was. As for the F15, WOW! Flown those on Sims too, and they always decide to die when you get hit by anything!

birdy
That is as bad as my first sim landing. Apparanly I died... Must be a reason for something like that!
Phil Winks
I guessing to high an approach speed possibly to steep an approach angle although doesn't look it may be tyres too soft causing it to bounce. he does seem to plonk it down at the last min
Simon Chaddock
A bad case of PIO (pilot induced oscillation) If only the pilot had just held the stick still it would have landed quite nicely all by itself.
Phil Winks
now that i understand done that a few times myself

Phil Winks
ah well I guess its there to stay then never mind bound to provide some entertaining stories for many years just another scary moment here just look at the superb reactions of this pilot
birdy
I wonder how often he has to deal with that ilk?
Phil Winks
Shouldn't think to often Birdy don't most large airports have runways running in different directions to reduce the need for dangerous crosswind landings. He did do rather well though. somewhere I saw his second attempt and even though the cross wind drift wasn't so severe it still made awsome watching the way he approached at a skew straightening for touch down only inches from the ground
Simon Chaddock
How about this landing in the huge A380Here
Phil Winks
that was an absolute greaser of a landing and so much crosswind drift there are some awsome commercial pilots out there
birdy
Well, thats what they are trained so extensively for.
Phil Winks
I fully agree Birdy still nice to see, especially if your a regular flier, that they are trained so well. so often I feel that many think of commercial pilots as glorified bus drivers, and in fact the truth is a 747 in bad conditions is as hard to fly as any hot warbird
birdy
Generally comercial piloting is easy, but one in 100 times, you will need to call upon your skill though!
