JohnnyB
In a couple of days I'll be painting the ABS(?) cowl of my Uno Wot and I was wondering what paint would be suitable.Would it be OK, for instance, to use Humbrol enamel or acrylic, as we use on our plastic models, and then fuel proof with a two part proofer. Or perhaps the Solarfilm paint might work? What would you Guy's suggest?.Many Thanks,John.
simon barr
Hello John,I did mine with Solalac, and I have also used spectrum paints, both are already fuelproof.
David Ashby - Moderator
Hi John, I think that fuel proofer is the main thing what ever is underneath. Fuel will eat away at paint if unprotected. I tend to use standard matt grey primer as an undercoat then JP sprays as the top coat, then nitro block spray as the fuel proofer.
Clive Moore
David, "Nitro block spray" I've not come across that before where do you get it? (Als doesn't seem to have it listed)

JohnnyB
Thankyou Simon,David and Clive.I'm going for the Solarlac option on this one. Mainly because its fully fuel proof and comes in matching Solarfilm colours. All I've got to do now is solve my problem of the splitting servo rails and cowl mounting blocks. Please see my other thread on this one............. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!! Cheers Guy's,John.PS - I've not heard of nitro block spay either. Nor could I find any stockists on the web after quite an extensive search. Ho Hum!!
