Devcon1
Any thoughts or ideas most welcome. Just setting up a new model with an X8R bought new from the UK distributor. Before I contact them I wanted to check all possibilities. The X8R is in PPM mode and flashed to latest EU LBT Firmware. Horus X10 is on OpenTx 2.2.2 full release 2018 07 28 EU LBT I have half a dozen models with the same TX , X8R, X6R, GXR8, XM+ etc and all are faultless. It binds OK initially and all works, after powering down it randomly either comes on immediately with the green light or flashes red and does not bind , I've tried changing the proximity of the Tx when switching on to no avail. Sometimes it will bind two or three times in a row sometimes it wont bind straight away. I've rebound the setup about 30 times over the last couple of evenings and it keeps losing bind. Power is stable and coming from a 5V BEC via an LiPo powered ESC. Very confused
Bob Cotsford
Send it back. Let the seller check it out, there's definitely something odd going on with it.
Devcon1
Thanks Bob, That's what I'm beginning to think. Forgot to say the X10 is in D16 mode and the strange behaviour is with all bind options ie,. 1-8 Telemetry on 9ms. 1-16 18ms Telemetry on Ch 1-8 etc etc.. Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Something wrong there Devcon! I've have loads of X8R's - they are my "go to" FrSky Rx. I've never had any problem whatsoever - in three years - with either my X9D or X10S. So if this one is behaving badly it sounds like a fault - I agree antirely with Bob - back it goes! Devcon1
All, pretty much, sorted. Forgot I had a new X6R in my radio bits box, bound that to the X10 and and no issues at all. Spoke to the supplier and the X8R being sent back today. Thanks for all advice, certainly buying in the UK makes makes life easier in these situations and being able to speak to someone is a big plus. Peter Christy
Like BEB, I've had quite a few FrSky receivers over the years without issue. However, I did have one that was "dead on arrival", and was promptly replaced by the excellent UK supplier. There's a lot to be said for buying stuff like this in the UK.....! -- Pete
