Phil Winks
can any one identify this model ie manufacturer and does any one know the correct CofG for it????
andy watson
No idea, but the kit I am building is a Flair DVII with a 61" wingspan, so I can tell you a few things of varying use It's not a Flair one. On mine the C of G is 120mm back from the leading edge of the top wing. As the wing is 30cm front to back then this is 2/5 (or 40% if you prefer!) of the way back.Hope this helps. Phil Winks
well thats what I thought and despite being a foamy it has a stiffening spar wich happens to be 40% of the upper wing chord from its leading edge so I'm pretty confident its ok. its a shame I cant find a forum attached to the QEF mag as this is the self same beast as they had to review apparently but I don't take the mag so can't look it up and I think I've tried all the usuall foamy slow flier manufacturers web sites to no avail ie E-flite GWS graupner
David Ashby - Moderator
Hmm, not seen that one Phil but I guess you could play safe and go with the C og G on the leading edge of the bottom wing? Looks like a sweet little aeroplane though
Phil Winks
the cog position suggestions all seem to be leading that way David 40% back on the upper wing coincides with the lead edge on the lower wing so I'm guessing its right the aircraft was a review model for QEFI but I cant lay my hands on the copy it featured in (don't take the mag and the guy who sold it to me can't find his copy lol) not important but would be nice to know who made itcheers any way

Phil Winks
well some spare time on my hands couldn't resist tidying it up added to machine guns too. now to fly it but shock horror the weathers turned foul must've seen this one coming out of the shed the prop saver hopefully will save on broken props at the field and yes the cowl is slightly twisted best I could get it due to the damage to the elapor behind it
Phil Winks
the model originally came from J Stennard so it is more than likely featured in Q&EFI and it will be in the last 8 months but more than 2 months ago best I've got at the min Eric but if from that you find you've got the mag please let me know the month cheers
