Andy J
Need a replacement canopy for a Seagull Sparrowhawk SEA-68 (84 inch wingspan version). Kit is now long out of production so can anyone recommend an alternative that would come close to being suitable? Existing canopy is a half round type leaving the pilot out in the rain so should be simple to produce. Just don't want the hassle of making a plug. Andy J
Given it looks like an impossibility to find a replacement has anyone any thoughts how the existing canopy can be repaired. Wondered if I could stick a strip of film on the inside but not at all sure if this will work.
jrman
Run a bead of canopy glue along the crack. It dries clear and will be barely noticeable.
Andy J
Do you suggest I first tape the crack from the inside and then run a bead of glue on the outside?
jrman
If the crack is tight without tape I would just run the bead along and gently move the crack a little to work the glue in. If you use tape you will likely only put the glue on the crack and not in it. (hope that makes sense) Don't use cyano as it will likely cause the canopy to go foggy. Andy J
Crack is quite lose at one end so will try some sellotape on the red trim section as this will be hidden. Have a bottle of formula 560 intended for canopies so assume this should work will it not.
jrman
Don't know what formula 560 is. Google is my friend. Yes that looks fine Edited By jrman on 19/06/2020 15:49:
