Adrian Morgan
Anyone fitted crow braking to a Phase 6, semi-symmetrical wing? Is it feasible? Does it work? I fly off Highland slopes with rocky/heather landing, which requires slow approach.
Shaun Brogdon
I modified my existing wing a while ago, and yes, it works a treat. Used Hitec HS-81 servos, mounted on their sides in the wing, and ran the wires/extensions along the wing in a slot cut through the skin into the foam. It slows my model down plenty enough for me to fly on some fairly rocky pieces of coastal Cumbria.
Adrian Morgan
Shaun, that's brilliant. I would dearly love to know in greater detail how you did it, even see some photos. I presume you used a single servo in the middle for the flaps? What angle do they go to? Are they adjustable, or just all out? And the ailerons... Any more details/photos would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to message me via forum
Tim Mackey
Adrian... I have edited your post and removed the email addy. You may get spammed to death publicising it on forums!
Shaun Brogdon
I used two HS 81 servos side by side in the existing standard servo hole in the centre of the wing, to drive the flaps. Ill try and take some photos, but historically, Im bad at remembering to post them. Im working 7 til 7 right now so not much happens once i finish work.Shaun
