Phil Winks
Congrats to the magazine editorial team. Another brilliant issue. my subscription made this web article a little redundant though. My copy landed on the door mat some 2 days before this appeared on here. however for those of you that have to make the trip to the news agent, it's well worth it just for Mr Whittaker's unique money saving ideas alone, had me in stitches. thankfully he gets whackier with time. the free plan is a peach and I can see it adorning the shelves of my overcrowded hanger / shed before the end of the winter. As for the Greens RC sopwith it looks a beaut and a good comprehensive review, by your Dad ? David ? in fact on that subject the review was with me 2 days before it was on brc hobbies web site, and is listed some £5's cheaper than in the mag. so good news there
birdy
I often get it 4 days before the official release! Haven't this week though, which is angering me since I was hoping to take it to CCF tomorrow. Grrrrrrr!
Phil Winks
ah the vaugeries of the modern british postal system eh Birdy er wot is CCF?
birdy
Combined Cadette Force. Basically I get to go flying for free, as well as shoot guns, go on Nitexs (NIghT EXercises), and generally have fun. The army section (which most people joined) dont get to go flying like us RAF Cadettes.

David Ashby - Moderator
Thanks Phil, yes that's father on the Camel there... the kit has been around for a few months now so perhaps BRC have new stocks in?
Ben Mullins
I Liked Mr Wittakers 10 ways to save money! All made me snigger
Phil Winks
David I think BRC must have timed this to conincide with the review as it wasn't on their site the day the mag arrived in the post but magically appeared on the officiall release date 2 days later and its cheaper by 5 quid
David Ashby - Moderator
Fair enough Phil, we flew the model recently and Graham was so smitten by it that he just went straight out and bought one!

birdy
Got it today. Nasty post ladie was bending it though, and it how has a crease in it. Grrrr!!! Content was good, but I havent read all of it. Not enough leccy stuff though in my humble opinion, and I do wonder if you could fit a bigger lipo in the Apprentice to make it heavier... It would out last my tx battery! Love the looks of the free plan and I must say, I am begginging to warm towards mr. Whittakers articals... David Ashby - Moderator
As you know, Alex - is a solid i.c. flyer now days but go back 20 years and he was flying electric - I tease him and tell him he's an electric pioneer and if it wasn't for chaps like him.... Phil Winks
I agree david but for the likes of mr Whitaker still I don't hold his IC tendancies against him while he can write like he did in this months mag
Aussie Bob
Great magazine!I enjoyed the recent article on chargers. They are certainly more advanced than the old 24hr trickle chargers.
birdy
Nor do I. Plus a thought (or two) why do you so rarely do tool reveiws (the Unimat 1 Classic would be interesting for istance), and why have (oh dear what am I thinking saying this) so rarely do IC trainer reveiws?
David Ashby - Moderator
Well most of the trainers are pretty well established and a few years old now. We've done a few this year (E-Pioneer, Apprentice) but we see few new trainers in comparison to other models Birdy. Some tool reviews in the pipeline though
Marc Humphries
We've got the two brothers editing; dad doing some kit reviews and assorted kids being the flying guinea-pigs.Has a role been found for the Ashby's cat?psI did not leave this message on the RCME answer phone, it is intended as a no-offensive joke.R. David Ashby - Moderator
The cat taught me to fly, the hamster's still at the buddy box stage. My daughter (15) isn't showing much of an interest these days though
Marc Humphries
Let's hope she's not listening to late night radio shows on Radio 2 rather than thumbing through model flying mags.
Marc Humphries
...or worst still - reading Radio Control Model World...
