Depron Spitfire project

Recommended Posts

Last year sometime, I acquired this part-built project that arrived in a massive great box on my doorstep.

It looks as though it was originally intended to be a PSS model, given the slimmed-down look of the fuselage, and the large aileron areas.  I think the fuselage and wings are made from EPP or something, but I'm not 100% sure.

On closer inspection, it looks as though the glue joins are not in the greatest shape, and the leading edges of the wings have come away completely before they could be finished!

I don't know if the fuselage or wings can be used (the tailplane looks fine, however), but I was thinking I might try to trace the outline of the fuselage to make a new one from Depron.  The wings could be patched together in order for them to be used as templates, or I could possibly use a set from another plan.

Wingspan is roughly 60".
