Graham Bowers
I've offered to teach a clubmate how to set the fail safe up of electric and IC models. Trouble is, I've never used Futaba, so have to learn it myself first. (FrSky user). So I'm hoping for a bit of a leg-up please. I've downloaded the instruction manuals for the T16SZ Tx plus R3006SB and R3106GF Rx's. 1) The two Rx manuals make no mention of fail safe so is it safe for me to assume they both have fail safe functionality, and that there are no actions needed on the Rx's to enable that functionality please? 2) I'm not confident I really understand what the manual says about the "battery fail safe" . As far as I can tell, it will fail safe on low Rx battery and will set the channels to what you have preselected. All good so far. But then, you can "release the pre-defined control from it's held position". So does that the radio indicates a low Rx batt condition by an apparent loss of control because the channels go to the preselected positions, and having recognised that, you can restore control by "releasing" it with some input, that by default is throttle? So you cycle the throttle, get back control, then land?? 3) What do seasoned Futaba users consider best practice for fail safe settings with this equipment please? 4) Are there and "gotchas" I haven't asked about? Thanks Graham

I have downloaded the Tx and Rx manuals. They'd probably make more sense if I had the transmitter and receivers to play with on my workbench, however it's my club mate's kit. I'll get him to come over with it, and try to make sense of the instructions. I was just hoping to get ahead of the game a bit.
