Peter 'Ivanna Crashalot' Savage
One day a while back i was up at the field probably when I first got into nitro, one of my fellow club mates was up the field with his wots wot (i think) and he put the glow stick on and turned the engine over but it failed to start, so he removed the stick and turned over the engine with the electric starter to suck some more fuel through, and to his shock and surprise it started! it is the first case i have ever seen of this happen Also a few days ago i managed to start my dad's SC53 2 stroke by bouncing it off the compression, it actually scared the willies out of me when it started! i thought this only worked with 4 strokes! IanN
My Irvine 53 normally starts with a smart reverse twist of the spinner
flytilbroke
Had an Irvine start without a glow stick too. QUITE A SURPRISE. After that I am very careful to treat any action to turn the prop as if it DOES have a glowstart connected..
Peter 'Ivanna Crashalot' Savage
I heard somewhere that the fuel reacts with the platinum on the glow plug coil and then ignites, so it doesn't necessarily need power to the glow plug
