Bonesmalone
Hi All Returning to building from a plan after a number of years building ARTF`s..... Now when i used to build from plans i could cover my plan with clingfilm or greasproof paper and the PVA would not stick to it, now in the days of Cyno i have tried both coverings but the cyno sticks to these as well as the wood !!!!!! What do you guys use to cover your plans ???? Regards Tony
Dave S.
I use baking paper, but then again, I prefer to use yellow (aliphatic) wood glue for almost every joint.
Bert
The best thing I've found is the backing sheet from Solarfilm, it works really well. And it's free! Bert
Lee Smalley
grease proof paper or use the works photocopier and build over that
Jonathan Lewzey
I would second the solarfilm backing method. works like nothing else. completely transparent. The only problem is you need to have already covered something else to have some in stock!
Guest
i'm with Bert, I keep all my film backing
Whatgoesup....
If you don't have any film backing Tony, I've found that " Protect-A-Plan " as available from Balsa Cabin has always worked well. It's very similar to the film backing although it's not free !! Regards
Allan Jordan
Hi All, I have used plastic sheet from DIY shops for some time now, it's usually sold for use as dust sheet for decorating. Works for me !!
Bonesmalone
Thanks for all your suggestions fellas, I think i`m gonna stick with clingfilm and aliphatic glue (easier to sand) Tony
Richard Duvall
I've used a big roll of clear sticky back plastic from Staples. Cost about a fiver - enough for 3 or 4 plans.
