Bonzo Moon
I built the World's first and cheapest QUADPLANE and test flew it INDOORS. When I get a chance it'll have a proper outdoor maiden, so watch this space! Happy New Year.
Robin Colbourne
Bonzo Moon, that is certainly an impressive achievement, not least for being able to achieve continuous flight within the space available and without hitting obstructions. There are a few people who would have taken exception to your claim of the first quadplane though. Matthew Bacon Sellers Jr. built the first successful quadraplane in 1908, capable of flying on 5hp after development. Frederick Koolhoven, the famous Dutch designer, Designed the Armstrong Whitworth FK10 fighter in 1916. Noel Pemberton Billing the Supermarine founder and Member of Parliment designed the incongruous Zeppelin hunter, the Supermarine Nighthawk, which just goes to prove that every aircraft in Dastardly and Muttley has existed for real at some point. I'm not surprised someone has done it before. I saw a video on YT since making this by Peter Stripol. Crazy inventor and creator and pilot. He built a foamboard lightweight plane with a couple of dozen wings! Even managed to get it flying! As far as flying that little foamie, it's not obvious in the video but the plane is tethered on a bit of light line to my tripod in the middle of the space, so it's flying around that. There was no intention to pretend I was flying it RC, it just has a timer for 15s. If you had seen the original biplane video you'd know that it's tethered. Light was better in that video below. Here's Peter Stripol's crazy plane!
