Ben Mullins
Hi All, Im in no need to know, but was just wondering. Is it possible to 'buddy link' across 35MHz to 2.4GHz? Im guessing you can because the master is the thing that controls all! However, Would you be able to buddy link across manufactuers, say Futaba 35 set to Spekky 2.4 set if you had the appropriate wire? My feeling would be that it would be possible because, as i said, master controls all! Anyone any ideas? Ben
Michael Hickman
Hi Ben My understanding is yes, you can buddy both ways between 2.4 GHz & 35MHz (I have used two Futaba 6EX, both as master/slave on different planes [35MHz TX must be set to PPM]). However I am led to believe that it is not recommended to buddy between brands, I could be wrong on this. Mike
Tim Mackey
35 and 2.4 is fine - I have done it with old JR and new Spekky sets - however compatibility between brands with differing plugs and sockets etc is, I think, not possible.
Ben Mullins
Fair enough! I was gunna say what about cross receivers . . . . Don't say anything!
Peter Jenkins
Timbo, Just noticed this thread as I have not had any takers on my other thread requesting experiences with linking JR and Futaba transmitters with the Hangar 9 lead sold for this purpose. Having spoken to Horizon UK they said the link did not work with the Futaba 9C tx but with the lower channel count ones. Having connected by JR DSX9 to my Futaba FF6 I got no joy. Do you have a view on this?
Peter 'Ivanna Crashalot' Savage
I tried interfacing an XP652 with a DX6i, all the channels worked except aileron :s as long as you have to required cable you can use what ever two trannies you like, there may have to be some encoder or decoder hardware because JR use ch1 for throttle and Futaba use ch3 . Tim Mackey
Sorry Peter, I do not really have any experience of trying this, but my thoughts were along the lines of lead /plug interfacing problems...but Peter S makes a valid point also. I must admit that I have ever only buddy leaded with JR + Spektrum and these all seem to work fine in any combo.
Peter Jenkins
Thanks Timbo and Peter Savage. I will go back to Horizon and see what they say.
