Simon B
Can i use this receiver with the DX5e? There's one going on ebay cheap and it'd be just the job for a plane i've got sitting here with no radio.

Dave Towell
That must mean AR = Air Radio then. Learn something new every day.
Peter 'Ivanna Crashalot' Savage
Do they still bind together?
Tim Mackey
They should bind fine - the DX5e ( DSM2 ) is compatible with every spektrum receiver either DSM1 or DSM2, whereas the old DX6 ( NOT the DX6i ) is DSM1 and is only cpompatible with DSM1 receivers ( AR6000 etc)
Peter 'Ivanna Crashalot' Savage
Them surface people have been using spektrum for a lot longer than us air users, i would assume that the surface ones are DSM1 Just out of interest, if you did get it, you could do a range check and see if it is long range or not Edited By Peter Savage on 28/04/2009 17:59:
Tim Mackey
All the early stuff ( which came at the same time as the DX6 ) was DSM surface gear. The first aircraft rcvr released was the AR6000 which was / is DSM also Then they released DSM2 equipment ( the DX7 ) and all rcvrs and Tx's from that point onward have been DSM2. Any DSM2 Tx will operate both DSM and DSM2 Rx, but DSM tx will ONLY operate DSM Rx.
