"I think the airframe is way to heavy to fly well on a 50, it had very limited vertical performance."

Have you seen the specs on the West engines? a 36 t1 produces 2.2 bhp so the 50 t1 must be very powerful indeed! The west guys use the 50 t1 on their hype 3D and groove freestyle models, which are of similar size and weight to the showtime. They have unlimited vertical.

What about the JEN 57? 1.8 hp and a lot cheaper than a 50 t1 or an ASP 91. Also both 2 strokes are lighter than the ASP, making a good 3D rearward CG easier to achieve.

I use an OS 91 FS, after trying this plane with a new SC 52 2st then Evolution 61 2st.  It really comes to life with the 91. The Evolution 61 flew it OK, but there was never anything in reserve. ( Also got the Funtana X50 which is much lighter than the Showtime, fitted with Saito 100)
