Barrie Dav 2
Does anyone have experience of the Phoenix model Rainbow EP? Build quality, fragility etc...
David Ashby - Moderator
Graupner do the same model (the name escapes me) but it was reviewed in the 2007 Special issue if you have it Barrie.

David Ashby - Moderator
That's the one Barrie - good review as far as I can remember. The 2007 and 2008 Specials should appear online soon, stay tuned.

Pete B
Hi Barry, I've been very pleased with mine - it's big, light and flies like a pussycat! This was before its maiden flight - I've put bigger wheels on rather than the spats as my ground is a bit lumpy. Err, this was it after the maiden - a pine tree branch reached out and grabbed it! (That's the tree in the pic above) A little bit of application and a few measurements had a replacement wing built and covered with clear yellow Solarfilm (exact match for the original Oracover) but I wasn't going to buy a roll of turquoise as well! Flying last week - still sunny over here too! There is a review here and a google search on Phoenix Rainbow or Elektro Kadett will bring up other threads. A couple of mods worth doing are to brace the fuselage between the leading edge of the wing and a bracing spar each side running from behind the trailing edge box down to the bottom of the next rearward former. You'll find this detailed on one of the RCG threads.Highly recommended - I love this planePeteIf you want any info re motor choice etc let me know

Andy Ramsay
Echo the wisdom of bracing the rear fuselage, still repairing mine. What prat took off with a nearly flat transmitter battery? The floor of the rear fuselage is also very flimsy and can be crushed in by even fairly light finger pressure. Andy
