If you read the whole bulletin, and use the link to the UK site, you will see they do even better. They offer their usual excellent after sales service, and will send you a free gizmo to test it yourself - then, if it needs sorting, they will collect from your home, or local store and return back to you all FOC.

Our investigation shows that only a very small percentage of the transmitters are affected, and the situation has now been corrected at the factory, but all transmitters with these two PIDs should be checked to see if the fault exists and if need be, repaired.

To save you the inconvenience of being without your radio unnecessarily we have a small test device that we can send to you to determine if your radio is affected. It simply plugs into the socket and gives a visual indication if the fault is present. There will of course be no charge for this.

If your radio has an PID number of HA906X or HA907X would you please take one of four courses of action.

1. Fill in and submit the form below and select “Test jack” to have us send you a device so you can test the radio yourself. We will send you a confirmation e-mail to let you know we have received your details. If after receiving the test jack you test your radio and the the result determines there is a fault just re-submit the form selecting “collect” and we will have the radio collected from the address you give. Once repaired it will be returned to that address

2. Fill in and submit the form below and select “collect”. We will send you a confirmation e-mail to let you know we have received your details. We will have the radio collected from the address you give, check it and effect a repair if necessary. Once repaired it will be returned to that address

3. Contact us directly by e-mail at [email protected] or give us a call on 01279 641097.

4. Take it to your local modelshop. We will collect it from them, test it and if needed effect a repair and return it. If you are returning it via your modelshop will you please download the returns form below, fill it in and include it with your transmitter.

Horizon Hobby and the Spektrum team apologise for this inconvenience. While there is no evidence of any fire hazard associated with the melting, Horizon assumes no risk for any consumer failing to act upon this service advisory.

Thank you.

If you follow this link Horizon UK will send out a test jack to see whether your outfit has a dodgy jack. If it has, they will collect it at your convenience FOC and sort it. Can't really ask for more than that, can we?
I have to say, having had dealings with Horizon, their after sales service continues to be second-to-none. That's why I think they have a loyal band of followers.
