Yorkman
Anyone done/doing any float/seaplane flying in this area? The Coota went well off snow, but that's gone now....
GeeW
There are float flying events organised about 3 times a year at Beale park, a few miles to the west of Reading, but owing to a couple of factors the next one I believe will be at the end of September 2010! Normally notified on the Reading and District clubs website which from memory is www.rdmac.org.uk
Martin Dance
Gee W is pretty much correct about Beale Park. The lake is being used at the moment by the Dolphin Centre ( a canoe and adventurous sports organisation) whilst its new centre next to the Thames in Pangbourne is being built. Scheduled opening is Summer 2010, so with luck there will be a splash-in in October 2010. Keep an eye on WWW.RDMAC.org.uk/as the year goew on Mart
Yorkman
Not absolutely sure where Beale park is-we were near it on sunday on one of Theale lakes-where the nipper had a blast with his boat and the Coota flew from water-briefly!-for the first time, before stalling and just recovering in time to make a perfect touchdown..far too exciting! Pete B
Yorkman, it's south from J12, M4 for a couple of hundred yards, then turn right following the signs. Not too far. Pete
