TAIL DRAGGER
There seems to be a trend on art work on aeroplane fins, although i don't find normal air force markings boring i think it does make the aeroplane a bit more interesting and attract more attention ,I would like to hear some other views on the subject,So what do you recon? Romeo Whisky
This is probably a variation on nose-art, which stems from WW2 tendency to adorn the noses of military aircarft with everything from cartoons to pin-ups. If you Google "nose art" you'll find loads of stuff. I like to see a bit personalisation on models and hardly ever use all the stock decals. Usually I design my own on the PC using clip art and drawing programs and print out on to Overlander InkJet vinyl sheets.
Andy Mc
There's always some "special tail" aircraft about, the RAF aren't too prolific when it comes to custom paint jobs but there's been some nice ones over the years. They normally use the excuse of Squadron Anniversaries, or other commemoritive dates. I think the Americans tend to be a bit more colourful with their markings.
