  1. What about a quadcopter with some extra legs (and fangs!)?
  2. There are two builds I can recommend, Peter. The first is Peter Miller's Harlequin, the free plan from the March issue. Very cheap and quick to build, probably way overpowered on a .40 (mine has a .52 FS, and is off the ground before the throttle is half open), and very nimble. The other is very similar, slightly bigger and heavier, but just as much fun - the good ol' Maricardo.
  3. Really chuffed for your successful maiden, Tom!
  4. It's the one with the TN Focke-Wulf 190 on the cover, you really can't miss it......
  5. Yup, page 93 of the 2011 Special......
  6. Yes please, CSB - Tempted by one of these myself, but it's down the queue a bit!
  7. I think it was an article by Mr. Whi**aker in last years Summer Special, Rod
  8. Uhuh... Twenty-three years clean, but now I've got an expensive four- stroke habit.....
  9. Our LMS (where I have mine ordered) has them on the website at £122 http://www.aerobuddies.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=2_7&products_id=323 Edited By Eck on 15/06/2012 14:58:11
  10. Did I hear you say that it's an ASP 70 up front in the review model? Have an SC 80 put aside for mine!

Not unless you have them on separate model memories.
  12. For my Sharkface, I use a rudder/aileron mix so that either stick can be used to turn the beast!
  13. Budget is severely limited, but that applies to everything, not just modelling. Mrs Eck accompanies me to the field when she isn't working, takes some wonderful photos and helps out at Club Open Days. Lucky Me!
  14. Thanks for such a great design, Peter. It was only my second wood "plan-build" (foamies don't count!) since 1983, the first being a Sharkface. It was originally powered by a Saito 45, which was ample, but after seven flights and some reliability issues, the Saito was replaced by an O.S. 52 Surpass. Way too much power, it has the model off the ground before the throttle's halfway forward, but she takes a good chucking about and lands with the motor running. The maiden was a week past Friday, and she's already had fifteen flights!
  15. Here's a photo of my Harlequin flying at the KRMFC fixed-wing Open Day last Sunday. The weather was fantastic and the company terrific, and the Harlequin is just designed to be a regular "hack" model, finding a space in the car for every trip to the field!

  17. They're now distributed by McGregor Industries, mate **LINK**
  18. Hi Tom, as the 2210 has max. current handling of 14A, I'd suggest a 20A ESC at least. We'd already tried this one with a 2204 motor and 2S LiPo, but it was a pretty gutless affair! The other one was built for a lad who had an indoor event organised for today ( in this weather? crazy - but he has to book the hall months in advance!) I'll let you know if there's any progress (has been given the fuselage and wing for covering).
  19. Hi Tom, I maidened a clubmate's Sharkface today, using a tiny Hyperion motor. The numbers 1750/14 come to mind, but I may be wrong, I'll ask him tomorrow. The motor was so small, and had a max. current of about 9 A, I thought it would be underpowered - but it went away like a rocket! Not ballistic like my 2212/06 GiantCod cheapie, but more controllable at full throttle! An equivalent may be just what you need.
