  1. Tom, I would like details of the rotors please. Would be great to make a start. Unfortunately I'm a little too far away to meet you on the Saturday as I live just south of the Pyrenees. Steve.
  2. Tom, I've always had an interest in autogyros and other forms of unusual aircraft. However, as is often the case, I never did get round to building and flying one. Then, a few weeks ago a friend turned up at the field with one of the HK Durafly Auto-G's which immediately caught my attention. After a few attempts it was flying quite nicely and my interest was definitely sparked, although I wasn't overly impressed by the quality of the head plate assembly and the poor looking servos/weak pushrods. So, after some research I came upon your Crane Fly here and on the other site. And, I have to say what a great source of inspiration it's been. To cut a long story short, I'm now planning to build the Crane Fly Light as my first venture into into the dark side once you've finalised the design. Cracking thread! Steve.
  3. Thanks very much for the feedback guys. Much appreciated.
  4. Not quite sure if this is the best place to post but here goes. I'm thinking of buying the Black Horse Orbit. Has anyone had, or know anyone who's had any experience of this model? Steve
  5. Bob, I'll just add my two pence worth. The Calmato was my first low winger and I've been very happy with it. Goes together well, fittings of good quality and very sturdy. It flies very smoothly and is as steady as a rock. I use it to "try" to fly smooth pattern type aerobatics. It's not a rocket ship with the stock motor on 3S but it's fulfilled my needs nicely. Steve.
  6. Seems that some nice models are around at bargain prices if we're at the right place at the right time. Steve.
  7. John, Sorry for the puzzlement. The two pics are not of the actual model I bought; just posted them for illustrative purposes. The one I have is indeed electric powered.
  8. I have just bought this version of the VQ Models Pilatus PC-6 from a friend; complete with motor, esc and servos. I only need to add a Rx. The model is as new and has only flown twice. Now the best bit. I paid only 60 Euros for it! A bargain or what? Steve.
  9. Following on from the entry by Bart............When sea trials don't go well. Steve.
  10. Thanks Pete B. I haven't hand tinted a B/W photo for what must be 40 years. Must almost be a lost art nowadays. Steve.
