  1. Sound like a perfect standard servo projrct to me
  2. Posted by Peter 'Servo Scrounger' Savage on 21/12/2009 19:32:36: I have never built my own go cart sometimes i wonder if i was born a few decades late :s   This is tragic it is a sad reflection on the appalling lack of initiative shown by our younger citizens. If Peter had really tried he could have been born decades earlier.
  3. Just about to do an Acrowot using an Irvine 53. I want to fit a Pitts silencer to make it easy to get the exhaust underneath. I have a couple of planes with the engine rotated to 45 deg down which puts it out the bottom. its OK but fuel siphons out when the enigne is not running. Will a flat Pitts (Just Engines type) fit in the cowl.Edited By Glyn Rutter on 03/12/2009 15:24:20
  4. In general you need the landowners permission to fly from his land. Your insurance will only cover you if you have the owners permission to do this.
  5. There is a downloadable plan for electric conversion on the Chris Foss Website.
  6. My latest self build. Model 3 of a series. Flies great.. I do a fuse side pattern  with all formers shown and work from there.
  7. A famous quote springs to mind. " There are old pilots and there are bold pilots, there are no old bold pilots"
  8. Doesn't have the foam wing tho'. I like foam wings so maybe I'll buy a kit after all.
  9. What is the issue here? Only use a crystal of the same make as the box you plug it into. No other rule is safe. You can try all you like but you will never know until it goes wrong.
  10. I think this harks back to the days when we were more worried about the internet than we are today. Aliases were thought to help security.
  11. I have found the controller need to be plugged in before starting the progamme.
  12. All insurance is only valid if you have the landowners permission to fly there.
  13. How about a low wing trainer for those amongst us who want to move on from the usual high wing models? A decent size to run a 40-60 motor would be good.
  14. My old black rx has the + right ,- centre, and signal left next to the receiver. I have made several other servos work by using a pin to lift the small plastic retainer to remove the pins on red and black and reversing them. I do have some old Sanwa servos which have the original wiring. signal -ve +ve.
  15. I have this same issue. I have a Sanwa Conquest rx and tx. The polarity of the rx power lines is reversed compared to Futaba etc. I have some Acoms servos which seem OK when I reverse the red and black to match my old Sanwa servo. I will need a new battery for my current project so will JR compatible fit?
  16. Methylated spirits contain about 5% methanol . Forgetting my O-level chemistry.
  17. Use methylated spirits. This is the alcohol part of fuel. I just soaked an old Enya 35 which was solid after being stored for years. I use 3in1 light oil after use. and to free joints. It makes a good after run oil. Anything with castor oil in will gum up eventually.
  18. I'm still trying to fly my sim!. Still the trainer isn't complete yet.
  19. As a newcomer to R/C I find mode 2 the most natural but my nearest club is nearly all mode1. I am trying to learn mode 1 but it feels awkward.
