  1. Slightly different to a lost parcel but I had a parcel returned to HK as Post Office were unable to deliver through no fault of theirs. I made contact with HK who indicated once the parcel was returned to them they would contact me, which they did. I had to pay postage again but that understandable however I was impressed that their system had worked.
  2. I totally agree with what you say. What concerns me is others seem to consider as " a product" was "bought cheap" from "any company" then the company can re-write T&Cs to suit themselves. I do not think so and as you say it is bizarre.
  3. Andrew, the tinternet is not serious but it is a forum for different views. I dont think any of us are seriously concerned about the T&Cs in this instance because they are, to me, only minor sums of money. Had they been considerable sums then they might be relevant but it all depends on how much the individual is prepared to loose. Should put a happy face bu not sure how.
  4. I have purchased very recently from GS and HK(UK) and they have both provided excellent price and service. Back to the OP, to expect a supplier to warrant your installation is unacceptable and I can understand that T&C. However if installed correctly and failing to operate then that should be covered under warranty. Simply to refuse warranty because package has been opened and soldered in place(how else can you test) is not acceptable
  5. My posting was not about the Frsky product, which I have found very satisfactory, but about companies concocting their own T&Cs
  6. Hopefully not going to open up previous posting, but find strange that it is found acceptible for a company to concock its own T&Cs which may be contrary to Sales of Goods Act. etc but then everybody has their own views.
  7. I find the T&C GS make quite incredible as they appear to go against all that is expected from a retailer. Their, "if you are not happy with these terms - BUY THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE! " suggests very little customer care. I have converted 3 Tx to Frsky including one updated to telemetry and have had no problems.
  8. "I wonder what impact Hobby King is going to have in the UK" They will desimate the small shops who will have ever more Airfix type kits as they sell and make them money which is essential. My LMS is going this way but will order in on request. This week I took delivery of two orders from HK delivered within a matter of days of ordering both of good quality items. The choice from HK is also immense although not all available from UK so a wait is inevitable on some items. Unfortunately delivered by Parcelforce which is absolutely dreadful in any info provided or response to complaints. My latest complaint asked in the first instance if they could tell me who lived in Buckingham Palace and if not to esculate to a supervisor. Will wait and see.
  9. Depends on the glider but I find they are easier to fly. Like all models if they are properly trimmed you can fly hands off.
  10. Exactly like that Alan except no C rating on it. Will assume its a 30C but will keep myt eyes on it. Edited By Hamish on 16/08/2012 17:21:07
  11. I have search but can find nothing. Had hoped the black covering would be an identifier but no luck. Will just need to keep a close eye. Thanks again.
  12. Thanks for the info Allan as that sorts the "P" out. Unfortunately there is no "C" on the pack to get any guidance as to what the maximum discharge should be. I will just go on 15C and keep an eye on it for heating. The charging maximum current has been marked.
  13. Have picked up a couple of these batteries. 2000 3S-1P 11.1 volt, Over-tec in a black wrapping with a maximum charge current of 2000mA. Can work my way round the charge socket but not sure of the C rating. Have done a quick search and whilst I thought the 1P would be 1C have seen batteries with the same 1P, but marked 15C which I hope would be correct Any advice appreciated

Mark. Visit your local flying club and you will get all the advice for free ie where to locate satalite etc. Have you flown before? Edited By Hamish on 09/08/2012 21:48:30
  15. I do attempt to support LMS if they have stock. Called in the other day for the first time in a couple of months to find a large expanse of display shelves taken up with airfix type of kits. As the owner say they sell and I need to make money which I can understand. Will still order in on request but not tying cash up on slow moving models
  16. Unfortunately prices have gone up at least 20%. My order on way from HK is now 30% cheaper than "The Big Shark"
  17. Ross, the select "channel" should have been "model" Non blinking sugests you are not in bind mode on Tx
  18. Used plasterboard for years now. Have not found it to crumble unless exposed at edges and I have taped round the cut edges to stop it breaking off. I purchased an old dining table which provide a good rigid base
  19. I have Algebra's 800 and a 1000. The quirk on the 1000 is that the tail plane's were both made the same resulting in one generating positive lift negated by the other. I sucessfully destroyed the Fuz of the 1000 by my lack of experience and constant hitting tera-firma to hard. This took me on another experience as I made a mould and built a fibreglass fuz, however modified for electric. Superb model to fly but I can confirm an absolute nightmare to get all the gear in. It amazed me the ammount of lead in the noze which I replaced by getting the biggest motor/battery combination but still needing lead. Not going to comment about CoG as I find I adjust to what I find comfortable which must be within those mentioned
  20. I thought this was put to bed. There is no suggestion of incompetence in the way they have made the refund etc. My point about incompetence is that they would rather loose a sale and a customer by not using another carrier. Now "Your fired"
  21. I agree there is no point in continuing on this subject. My last comment is that I emailed KL this morning and asked if they posted to IV. I still await a single word reply "Yes" or "No" but it could be half day but silence speaks volumes.
  22. You need to read my post Charlie. I said they are incompetent you did not . I also said "if a customer is made aware of additional charges" so no loss to supplier and really not that difficult to use another courier. Im afraid in this climate business need to chase sales and not adopt "we only do it this way" attitude "Oh well, I Tried" as Lord Sugar would say "Your fired" as not sufficient effort.
  23. I read some utter nosence here. Because the courier are "contracted" to them they are unable to use any other courier?. Lord Sugar would look at them and it would certainly be "Your Fired". In these days a pound is a pound and if a customer is made aware of additional charges then its up to the supplier to put the extra effort in. Please do no try to make excuses for incompetence by blaming couriers. Edited By Hamish on 19/04/2012 17:23:02
  24. Its really no problem in understanding how companies go bust. "the courier does not ship to that post code", so what! ! Its the LMS that decides who he uses to ship his sales and with such a lame excuse its pathetic I just looked on Parcelforce's webb site " Same price anywhere in the UK" and I assume others are the same. Purchasers in the remote areas appreciate that they may be asked to pay a bit more so please do not pass the blame to the courier when it is simply the suppliers incompetence.
  25. Tom you are lucky you can walk to the shop. Unfortunately many rely on post and KL do not appear interested. Perhaps the next time you are in the shop mention they are getting free publicity on this forum
