  1. Looks good to me Dusty ,hope your efforts are rewarded.
  2. Im the same Andrew so in this weather when the usual members are turning up with there winter hacks I turn up with another new Trainer because Ive just written the old one off, hopefully my buddy box will cure my problem and I can begin to progress more cheaply
  3. Ive just built a Boomerang and Ive bought a buddy box so I hope to get some confidence back, depending who is at the field to advice and help me,so it will be th 1 at the moment.1 consulation,The best pilt in the club seems to have as many crashes as me and as you say batcho99 all his gear ,is megga expensive ,as I saw when the remains of the plane fell out of the tree into a stream. When it dried out it warped so he sold it on E bay- thats a bit of a warning isnt it
  4. I started this year with an ElecItrofun XP2 that took all the punishment I threw at it,followed by the MPX easistar that also took a load of abuse. When the nose became to short a new fuselage was very cheap and straight forward to replace,Ienjoyed them both.Have fun
  5. Its covered vwith tissue, apparently I cant put a covering on til Ive painted it!
  6. Business doesnt look to promising today so im going to experiment with some tins of paint on this Apollo today
  7. Completed the Boomerang last night so its back to the Magnatila tonight.
  8. My first nonARTF is a Magnatila by Flair and my 2nd will be aFlair Cub which actually looks more straight foward than the Magnatilla which is going well.It does enable you to personalise your model and modify it if you think you can improve it
  9. Ive seen it but Im always to busy looking at the cars
  10. IMkeeping it secret from myself bit it will probably come in a small box and go brm brm putt putt and assist in the forward motion of a certain model aircraft im building
  11. This is how my Boomerang is progressing,I hope to finish it tonight
  12. After the Demise of my Protech Azzura the club member who was standing with me felt guilt ridden as he felt responsible for handing the controls to me with the model in such a position that the tradjectory and speed were to much for me to handle that he has given me this model.Apparently it was given to him and he was considering using it as an engine test bed.Could someone suggest a suitable I/C engine for me to use and does anyone have knowledge of this model.it weighs in at 5lbs 8ozsand recommends an engine size of.35 cu in. displ so what size is that in todays measurement.I think it is 1974 vintage
  13. Im having second thoughts on the engine.Iwas given a Leo46 witha dagostini kit, having read how unreliable they can be on another thread im considering a new 4 stroke.A member of the flying club gave me a 1974 Graupener maxi, built like a tank and i could put the leo in that
  14. Ive chosen a Magnatila which im building a Boomerang that I should finish tonight, and a Flair Cub with an SC52 4 stroke that ill start after the magnatila
  15. Im now having 2nd thoughts on the engine.Being inexperianced  and reading another thread on the dagostini spitfire ,the kit the engine came with,it may be un reliable and i dont want a deadstick at the wrong time.A new engine is less than half the cost of the kit alone ignoring the hours you put in .I dont want to sacrifice a model for the sake of an engine.
  16. Hi Ernie Ive got the kit and the engine and when i finish the Magnatila and Boomerang it will be underway for the spring
  17. I fitted my Os46 into a Boomerang Im building and found it easier than fitting an electric motor and I know it wont go backwards and I need to swop 2 wires round ,now did I put the pipes on right well there is only 3 so all I have to do is swop 2 ,right.
  18. Im using a LEO 46 in the Magnatila Im building, its new came Free witha kit I  bought  and a bit of an unkown quantity.Anew OS 46 la is under 50 pounds less than half of the price ofthe kit alone and Icould be risking hours of work.Youve just given me the excuse I was looking for Ithink Andy Thanks.
  19. Recalling my Easi Cub earlier this year I found it so easy to fly and would get 20 mins from a 2100 7,4 volt.Ive gone onfrom there to aerolons and much more power with a Pioneer and a protech fitted with an OS46LA. After a disastrous week I keep thinking of going back to another EasiCub. The thing that stops me is that when I flew my EasiStar with its original 400 motor it seemed so painfully slow, and I appeared to have grown from that.I therefore wonder if I would feel the same if I went back to an Easi Cub,any ideas please gents thanks
