  1. What day are you planning to fly, I am away at the moment but might be back in the area, the Orme flies pretty much most wind directions but some are only really suitable for foamies, thankfully the main wind directions are catered for. Check XC Weather before you go and expect it to be more
  2. travelling south this week for the summer might see the two of you sometime.
  3. heading up there this afternoon with some kids from school, I'll mention in the ski slope about the event, as a skier I know them well and ski there twice a week with kids from school, I ll mention also that many will probably use the cafe etc. Take care in the car park, some very rough bits after rain dont want any of you ripping exhausts off.
  4. Posted by Steve Houghton 1 on 11/06/2015 16:14:57: South Wales Conwy Soarer? Keep clear of the area from Cardiff up to Abergavenny on Sunday as many of the roads are closed for the velathon. 15000 cyclists are taking over the roads, which is why I'm not intending leaving the Orme until around 4pm, otherwise I could still get caught up in the road closures. Its OK I am heading South West, thanks for the heads up.
  5. Posted by Conwy Soarer on 09/06/2015 12:28:43: For what its worth (I will be down south so you cant hassle me if wrong!) I reckon looking at long term charts it will be a NE around 8 - 20 kts, if you decamp to Ski Slope side I reckon you'll all have a blast. Back up North around lunchtime so I might bring my Vamp and Tucanno up as I seem to keep missing the PSS meets. Said it would be OK All my Y11s have finished so I might pop up Friday morning for a fly (in service training !!) Might see some of you then, off down South on Saturday morning so will miss the main event (again
  6. Posted by Andy Meade on 10/06/2015 10:44:56: Do I just follow signs to the ski centre from the promenade road too? Please keep in mind I'm in a motorhome complete with trailer - are the roads navigable for me do you think? Yes thats correct, motorhome should be fine I take 17 seater minibus up there full of skiers, keep an eye out for overhanging bushes and people coming down (single track) Not sure about a trailer though!
  7. IIt just means going on NT land to retrieve landed out models when flying the Hanglider slope rather than the farmers land.

  9. We have a 1600 in our school club (we also have an unbuilt 2000) We built as is with the ballast/nose weight. It flies a treat and is one of the favoured trainers in our fleet. Easyglider has been grounded since getting this, a much better aeroplane. We fly ours as a pure glider from the slope. It is also really popular with the more experienced pilots, they love chucking it around on increased rates.
  10. Posted by Tim Mackey on 21/10/2014 19:37:10: If anyone is about, a couple of us are planning a sortie up there on Friday as the conditions are forecast to be ideal. Morning or afternoon?
  11. Sorry for lack of updates guys we left for our road trip to the lakes earlier than planned so just had a couple of ours on our slope thats a 10 minute walk from home. Not sure if anybody is up there today, really blowing at home at the moment, looks like leads sleds only today!
  12. Going up tomorrow will let you all know, I think if you go via the summit then cut across and down past the church its OK? Been NE this week so no need to go around.
  13. Down in the area for summer was hoping to get out on Thursday or Friday but had other things that had to be done. Hoping to get out later today for a quick blast on one of the NW slopes not sure which yet, I have a Hobbyking ASW28 to maiden. Might see you sometime over the next month or so. That ME looks fab you should bring it to one of the PSS meets at the Orme!
  14. How did it go, we are off to the lakes in our motorhome in August, might sneak a glider on board.
  15. Funny thing is I didn't notice the bit about our school below the article - only just seen it!
  16. The recent PSSA meet at the Great Orme has received some good publicity in a local paper. Well done lads for getting some good coverage of our sport/pastime. **LINK** Hope the link works! Its on page 21.
