  1. Thanks for all your replies. After much deliberation, I have decided to go with the Kinetic 800 from HK.Really a decision about relative costs.  Just need to wait for the post man...
  2. Just seen the Kinetic 800 from Hobby King, which looks very similar to the Merlin and seems better value for money.Does anyone have any experience of these? I have read that the servos are a bit weak.  Geoff...
  3. Just wondered if anyone has found a cheaper alternative to the multiplex tuning powerset (for the Merlin) - it seems a bit pricey! I believe the motor needs to be 22mm diameter - has anyone found anything suitable from Giant Cod? Thanks in advance.  Geoff...
  4. Hi Tony. I have little business on the side doing just this.  www.film-to-dvd.co.uk  Would be happy to give you a 25% discount for a fellow modeler, if you are interested. Geoff... Edited By Geoff Gardiner on 10/12/2011 18:32:12
  5. Thanks Ian - I did find you build thread in 'sloping off' a great help.
  6. Hi All. Just finished putting my Fusion together and thought I would try and post a couple of pics:   All the best. Geoff...
  7. Thanks for all your replies to my previous post.   I have decided to go with the Fusion 46 in red. Ordered it today and spoke to Alan - seems like a decent chap.   i haven't had much experience of covering and wondered what materials people use to add a bit of bling (stripes etc) over the base colour.
  8. Hi ntsmith Good to hear others are building the Mini Panic. I am almost ready to start mine (garage conversion took longer that anticipated).  Do you have any pictures or video of yours? I would love to see it.
  9. Hi All. I have been flying electric powered stuff for a couple of years and feel that I should give this slope business a go. I have pretty much decided on an SAS model but am stuck between the Wildthing 46 and the Fusion 46.  If any of you guys have flown both, I would welcome your opinions.
  10. Hello Everyone. I have just got myself a new mini panic kit and, as soon as I have converted my garage room to a workshop, will be starting this as my first ‘trad’ build – I have put together several ARF’s. Have any of you folks out there put one of these together? I would welcome any advice as to the electric setup used (servos, motor, esc, prop, battery and bec combinations). Also, has anyone put a cowl over the motor – I feel it would improve the looks greatly.
  11. My 3 choices for electric are: 1.  RAF FE8 2. Sopwith Pup  3. Demoiselle  Geoff...
  12. Correction - I meant 11x8 and 11x7 props.
  13. Using Tipple 2300 3s Lipos and the supplied 10x8 Prop my Watt meter reads 32A 375W at full throttle restrained. Had 10 flights of 6-7 mins duration yesterday. ESC does get hot if I am throwing it about a bit - but so far no problems.   I may try a 10x7 prop and see what happens.
  14. I also got one of these from Inwoods at the LMA Much Marcle show - managed to bag the last one at £99. Had trouble with the stripes  around the fuse. Didn't seem to go on as per the picture on the box and didn't have enough stripes on the decal sheet. I ended up cutting some extra strips from the battery bay decal (that isn't used). Tail wheel a little bent, but nothing that causes a problem. Using Tipple 2300 3s Lipo (charge up to 5C) and balance is spot on. Watt meter reads 32A 375W at full throttle restrained. Have put larger 75mm wheels on as I fly from longish grass (1-2inch). Manages OK but prone to gently nosing over on landing. First flights today in a bit of gusty wind. Very pleased with the handling. Needed 3 or 4 clicks of left aileron to trim. Great fun.
