  1. Hi, yes an 11/6 or7 were in my head before the question was asked, thanks for the info.  I suppose a 4stroke would be the perfect engine for this type of model, but one has to use what we have, and that happens to be an os 40 2stroke.  This thread has re kindled my in interest in this model, and its a pity the winter will be with us soon with its windy days.  flyboy3
  2. Hi all, what prop size would you experts out there put on a s/scorpion fitted with an os 40 2st.I would like to obtain the flying characteristics it was originally designed for. Thanks flyboy3.
  3. Hi, I have somehow aquired a plan of a bi plane called Josephin by a chap called BO Gardstat. It looks as if it may be a sports airobatic type model.Top wing 52 inches ,bottom 38 inches for a 40 2st. Wondered if anyone out there had built one, or has any info. on it .Thanks, flyboy3
  4. Hi all,Is there any conflict or safety issues regarding the use of 2.4gig tx,and 2.4gig video camera at the same time.  Could be a daft question, as I know very little about either. Thanks flyboy3
  5. HI i agree with Grumpy, I think we have all been there at least once or twice.  As I read in this forum not long ago, there are two types of fliers, those who have crashed, and those who have not crashed - Yet.. flyboy3
  6. Hi, good advice on the SC52 f/s, have you any advice on my same engine.  The nut holding the exhaust to the engine continually slackens off after a few flights.  The prop is balanced,so what else could cause this.? Would a locknut do the trick ,or a spot of epoxy.  Thanks flyboy3.
  7. Hi, I can understand the euphoria when a new manouvre is completed, and the fact that they are tried with no one else around, we have all been there and it is a wonderful feeling, but our club discourages (it is not a rule) flying alone. One mistake with a prop, and you may not be able to drive home.flyboy3
  8. Thanks Ken,it looks as if the general opinion is that all should be well, and to ask for a little wind on the day. My BMFA News page 51,  (Oct 09) shows a talented very young lad who has passed his "B" on a model that looks  very much like a S/W.  Thanks flyboy3.Edited By fly boy3 on 22/09/2009 19:56:59
  9. Thanks Ken for your advice Ill pass it on.I think the pilot has a few reservations regarding the bunt only ,when using a S/W.  He has practised this on an old acro wot (now  deceased) but thinks the integrity of the build of a S/W might not cope with it.   For David, I cannot say what kit it was built from, but I know it is not a Sig.  It has 60 inch span. with SC52 up front, and a 11by 6 prop. And just one question ,might be off topic sorry! Are the stresses of a loop and bunt similar.? Thanks flyboy3
  10. Hi Steve, I was really after info on the model. The flier would be an experienced pilot of many years. Many thanks, flyboy3
  11. HI, would a suitable engined Space Walker be able to cope with the B Schedule. Thanks flyboy3Edited By fly boy3 on 21/09/2009 17:49:16
  12. Hi all, thanks to all who helped with my u/c problem which is now sorted. Could any one tell me where I can obtain an aluminium u/c as fitted to an Acro Wot, and also to my venerable old trainer, the Yamamoto. Thanks fly boy 3
  13. Hi Conrad, never having flown a rudder only model, let alone a vintage style aircraft,I would think that as rudder is the only way to turn the model,as much movement as you can get would would be fine.  You could always use the rate switch to give you more or less as required. flyboy3
  14. Hi all, strange goings -on, I can post a reply on the forum no problem at all, but if I try to start a new thread  and press"add posting button" it will not post.Spent week end proving this point with many replys to already open queations on forum.Tried to start a new thread 5 times but no go.pressing the refresh button does not seem to do any thing.  What am I doing wrong.I sometime have a message,"sorry but you need to pass a thread ID into this page after posting"Help flyboy3Edited By fly boy3 on 07/09/2009 18:44:59
  15. Hi all, would a medical bandage with pva glue, plus 2 dihedral braces, join a 72 inch foam wing as strongly as traditional fibre glass and resin etc. flyboy3
  16. Can the principle of opposite control inputs (rudder/aileron) for cross wind landings be used for take offs, and if so can it be used when a 90 degree cross wind to direction of take off is blowing.flyboy3
  17. Hi all, reading posts on flying the Super Scorpion,I noticed a lot of talk re-garding wind..Does this mean it is a fine weather flyer, and if so is it down to having rudder only.flyboy3
  18. Its a shame to cover such wood working skills, but building is a precursor of flying.I bet it will fly as good as it looks.flyboy3
