  2. Posted by TheFlyingCrust on 16/05/2014 17:20:41: My eldest Grandson wants to learn to fly. I use a Hitec Aurora and he has access to and Optic 5. The Optic 5 can only be used for the slave. The problem I have is acquiring a buddy lead. I do have a standard stereo lead (the right size) but according to the Hitec website 2 of the conducors are reversed so the lead I have won't work. Do any of you know what the connections are or where I can buy a lead that will do the job? I'm confident making one as long as I know the orientation. Ian Easy to adjust a standard stereo lead, refer to diagrams under: Aurora 9 - Trainer - Buddy system Master & Slave function Set-up & Data Transfer Aurora 9<>Aurora 9. ex Hitec USA Support Forum Sticky: Aurora 9, Spectra Modules & Optima Transceivers - FAQ & Undocumented Features Thread on Optic 5 Buddy Trainer system: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1863557 - Mixes, Setups, Tips. {Individual Links often updated} Further information on Training systems under sub Section "Trainer (Buddy box) cables - DIY " under "Buddy Boxes. Current Drain : 190mA Optima RX - Installation RX, BODA Antenna, Volts & Range Test.. Quote: "Notes 1. a. Reset voltage is 3.5v. The cause of many problems with 2.4 systems is when people use low power 4 cell packs with high torque servos and they brown out. Optima cut off voltage is 3.5v, so we suggest a 5 cell+ pack for the servos, or use the SPC to power the RX (excludes servo) for additional safety. A small 2S lipo to SPC would guarantee the RX voltage would never sag. " Alan Tong Alan's Hobby, Model & RC FAQ Web Links
  4. Posted by patrick diviney on 28/04/2014 09:36:24: Your direction to that site wasn't helpful as its about hundreds of issues with the Hitec Eclipse pro 7 and I've already gone through these forums and they have nothing on a Flap to Elevator mix or a powered glider with throttle control on the throttle stick. Can you actually help with this specific problem. The idea of post #2 was to provide a list of all known Eclipse 7 Pro Q&A, gleaned from all the major worldwide forums, and from which you could pick out any which could be of help in resolving your issue and save you from further searches. Also highlights that no other user has had such a problem. Meantime I have tried several methods on an Eclipse 7 Pro without success, will revert if and when a direct answer can be given. Alan T. 7. Posted by Colin Ashman on 02/03/2014 17:42:00: Thanks everyone, in particular Alan Tong, because after starting this thread I found what I hope is the right connector in your EBAY shop. Could you just confirm for me if this is the correct one for my Optic 6 Sport LINK Not my Ebay shop but unit is said and looks to be correct. Alan T.
  8. Hitec use two different trainer/simulator sockets. All Tx prior to the Optic 6 use the 6 pin DIN socket, those with complete system/case rebuild since e.g. Optic 6 Sport, use a 3.2mm stereo socket 9 (Stereo plug for trainer lead whereas mono plug for Simulator interface) Full details covered under: .
