  1. Colin, the Spiteful! Other things and all that. Go well Graeme
  2. Thank you Kate. It's really great to know someone is concerned and rectifying the problem. Cheers Graeme
  3. It's all very frustrating. I received my May issue yesterday without my address. Just the town! It turned up at my neighbours place. Still no sign of the June issue although my flying mate received his a week ago. Ah well, patience required I suppose. Cheers Graeme
  4. Thanks very much for that Chris. I have completed the survey. Hopefully someone will fix the problem. I still don't have a May issue and I reported that to Subscriptions on the 14th May. Oh and no sign of June which would usually be here last week of the month. Again thanks, Graeme
  5. I'm in Tasmania, and still no May issue let alone June! It's not worth the subscription. I've complained to subscription the last 4 months. I eventually end up with a copy but I could get it just as quick from a local newsagent. It's hopeless. Graeme Edited By Pete B - Moderator on 25/05/2015 07:59:36
  6. The June issue? I still don't have the May issue. Yes I have notified the subscription dept. a couple of days ago. This is the 3rd month this has happened. Something has changed. Cheers Graeme
  7. My goodness. Look at all those rivets! There is some fun to be had there......by someone! Cheers Graeme
  8. Hi Bertrand, that is superb, fabulous. I must build one. Thanks for the inspiration. Cheers Graeme
  9. Still haven't received mine. I'm in Tasmania same as you Steve and this is the 3rd issue that is at least a month late. It seems they are being distributed by someone different. I notice the March issue came from Victoria (Australia)! Whats happening? Cheers Graeme
  10. Wow, I love that Bertrand. Absolutely fabulous. Where do I get the plan? Go well Graeme
  11. That is a lovely model Barry. It is superb. I believe that is based on an Australian Chipmunk? Go well Graeme
  12. David, You wouldn't read about it. As soon as we complained they turned up the day after. Thanks for your concern. I'll be busy reading tonight and maybe the March issue will arrive next week! Such joy! All the best Graeme
  13. Hello David, We are both in Tasmania. I have requested a replacement copy. I believe Peter has as well. Thanks for your help. bye Graeme
  14. March issue?? Like Peter, I haven't received the Feb Issue either! That's the slowest ever. Cheers Graeme
  15. That is a very pretty aeroplane. It puts me in mind of an Estrellita which I think was a American racing plane just after ww2. I have a 50" RCME plan of it that I have threatened to build one day. However maybe the Jezebel would be a better bet. Cheers Graeme
  16. Thanks Ross, and to you as well. Unfortunately I was working but enjoyed a drop in the arvo, with barbie of course. cheers Graeme
  17. Terrific fairings Steve. They look the business. How long are you in Oz? You will have to finish it before you go, or not. Cheers Graeme
  18. Thats looking superb Colin. I'm at approx the same stage. Just contemplating joining the panels. On an unrelated mater, Colin, the Seafang/Spiteful?? Cheers Graeme
  19. Hi Stevo, Not to worry. Oz is ok. OK but not as good as Tasmania! She'll have a ball. However, just to show I understand your anguish, our no.2 daughter had 4 years in UK & Ireland fifteen years ago. We had to rely on her to contact us every couple of weeks and at one stage we didn't hear from her for six weeks. Unbeknown to us we missed a call and our answering machine was out of action. A very worrying time. Communications are so much better now. She is currently touring NZ and we exchange texts every couple of days. I suggest you save your pennies and join her for a few weeks....Then again she may not appreciate that! Go well Graeme
  20. Crikey Terry, Beautiful workshop! You are just showing off and causing us all to feel downright jealous! Cheers Graeme
  21. Hello Redex, Another couple of flights with the 6s batteries. The second a little over 10 minutes, 3053ma to recharge out of 5000ma which is (I think, not good at sums) 61% usage. Thats 1947ma (38.9%) left. So I would be happy with 1500ma left (30%). So I believe I have a pretty good safe set up which gives me plenty of flying. My flights are generally around the 10 minute mark. So very happy. And as you point out no mucking about with messy motors. However, I will still fly my glow fleet. I'm just installing a brand new Laser 155 in my YT Spitfire, my favourite aeroplane. But it's good to have options. Horses for courses and all that. All the best Graeme
  22. Hi Redex, Too many technical questions for an old bloke, however I'll do my best. But first, Redex we flew the model 3 times yesterday. It flys beautifully. The first flight was with a 5s 5000 Turnigy Nano-tech pack. It flew well but for my kind of flying it ran out of steam on the verticals and big loops lacked authority, in my opinion. Others reckon it was fine!! I do,like the option of some action. The last two flights were with a 6s 5000 Turnigy Nano-tech 25-50c discharge pack and this set up was excellent. Plenty of power and I was as happy as Larry (whoever he is!). Now to your questions. With the 6s setup 45amps, 14*7 prop, weight with battery 3.4kg and it did a 7minute flight with 2800ma left.in the battery. So I'm aiming for 10 minute flights which shouldn't be a problem. This motor, esc, battery, propeller combination was figured out by my mate Peter who is experienced with electrics and has used the same arrangement on a Meridian a bigger model but he reckoned I would enjoy the extra power in the smaller model. At this early stage, very successful and a lot of fun. I still have a bit of fine tuning with the trims and organising batteries/chargers etc but I have enjoyed the experience of my first electric very much. At the end of the flights I was lost because I had so little to do. No cleaning!! Just didn't seem right after 35 years of glow power. Ha ha . But yes, I can highly recommend this model and I am very happy with the electric setup. Good luck with your endeavors. Go well, Graeme
  23. Danny, I was concerned about the strength of the wing so included .4mm ply vertical webbing to the spars even though they are not shown on the plan. Is this overkill? Go well, Graeme
  24. Hello Redex, a bit of an update for you. The Zlin is finished, finally. We have had some family hassles that delayed things considerably. Now my electric mate Peter, who is guiding me on this project, has had an operation and will not be able to help me for a few weeks. So more delay. Anyway he advises that the initial setup is as follows, Motor: OS OMA-5020-490 ESC: HK Plush-80A First battery HK 5S 5000 Propeller 14*7 We will try this battery & propeller as a starting point and see how it goes. Peter says it will be pretty powerful so we may have to modify as we go. Hope this helps. I will keep you posted. Go well Graeme
