  1. Ahh....OS is discontinued/discontiuing the Irvine 53...spoke to JE for spares on my 3 and was told they arent making them anymore. From an educated guess of mine, its in competition with the OS 55 and so,well you can guess the rest. JE can still get spares for the time being but no new engines. Gonna stock up on spares for all 3 of mine.
  2. Very nice....oh to have the skills....good work Jules
  3. Love the translation of latin to english Lorem itself pain he is amet consectetuer to come up to elit. Maecenas feugiat according to reason diam. Maecenas fear. 5. I have used Futaba for a long time, apart from a brief excursion to Specky, and now run 2 Futaba FF7s with Frsky hack modules in them. RX cheap and good (8chnl actually 7 after plugging in batt for only £14.73) not had any problems with range or even lousy/questionable positioning of aerials. Comes with failsafe, takes ermm 2 seconds to set and i set all the time. I wont be changing to anything else. I know what you mean about X and Y and probably Z, TX or RX compatibility, hence my change to Frsky which can be used with most Tx, aslong as they are 35mhz/72mhz and not the 'hard wired' 2.4ghz.
  6. Might get shot down with this...but is it the 'bottom' end/idle needle that needs adjusting? I think i had same problem with an irvine at the field few months ago and one of the guys adjusted the bottom end/idle needle 1/8ths of a turn in i think and it helped.....hope this helps...and i havent made an amazingly stupid response to your question.
  7. Well i am sure the support of my club will help...........plastic bag or 2 on hand LOL
  8. Hi Gary, will be using the low rates.......but have full rates also programmed in. Maiden for me is just to get height and do any trimming required then land.....if needed i will adjust the low rates to increase throws, but dont go near high rates until i have about 8 flights and i feel comfortable.Hoping to maiden this weekend Edited By Mark Rowse on 06/02/2012 18:50:23
  9. Hi all.....just weighed..in bits as my scales wont handle everything at once. It comes out at 2.8Kg...which accoring to the instructions is the lower weight, upper weight is 2.9kg...so kinda happy with that Hows your Rocket coming along Gary? Still going leccy?
  10. Just asked another seller why he is selling them as Futaba when they are not...He says 'why are they fake?i use these in my cars i use with no problems at all' ooh in a car huh....so not a trainer with a 46 engine stuffed in its nose coming down rapidly.

  13. Well he wont learn will he....back for sale again! Fake servos for sale still
  14. Trouble is they do look 'real' enough. Quick glance and they seem good....alas they are not.
  15. Hate this part of our hobby. Someone puts one of them in their model and ends up making a horrible mess or a mess of someone. Reported the seller for selling fakes. Check this website RC model reviews Edited By Mark Rowse on 01/02/2012 20:37:13 Edited By Mark Rowse on 01/02/2012 20:38:05
  16. Posted by Steve W-O on 01/02/2012 12:56:26: Looks good, looks as if it can almost do as much as the TH9X with ER9X firmware (can't find a running ad hiding smily) Slap a Specktrum sticker on it
  17. Why two antennas? DSMX having issues?
  18. Well after a few ermm niggles....here she is Found another niggle, while trying to put right wing on...it wouldnt go on, after 1 and a bit hours of head scratching talking to Jperkins and Swindon Model shop (cheers for all help) i finally got wing on. Why wouldnt it go on straight away, well i dunno. Would only go in so far then 'jam' leaving a 5 mm gap hmmmm, made sure Ikea fixing was wide open and tried again n again and again, switched couplings around as the left wing slotted in perfectly, still no joy....checked length of wing joiner, yep spot on so thats not jamming it....finally after taking out wing joiner and 'wiggling' left wing, in it went, so i then put wing joiner in and tightened up Ikea fixing, left wing straight on no problems. Why it wont work with wing joiner in right wing to start with i really dont know, least i can put wing on now and secure both of them.....another design flaw/problem/not thought out application? Who knows! head on pic....think i lined up spinner and cowl pretty damn well, even if i say so myself! Awww its got a cheeky lil smile I feel sick, turn me the right way up....balanced perfectly at 75mm (no fuel) Beautiful cowl but then again it does as David said gives lots of cooling! Cant see it too well, but i reckon the Pitts style exhaust looks goooood. Well thats her all done. Lovely day here apart from freezing cold and a very stiff breeeze, so no maiden today...maybe tomorrow, BUT i wont rush into it, dont want a bag of balsa. Final thoughts on build:1)Well put together wings, fuselage etc 2)Well made ancillaries3)Instructions i would say are ok to a point, lousy pics in black and white, come on Seagull, colour is better! 4)Seagull really need to check their designs carefully, cockpit/tank interaction. Wing joining system, not sure i like Ikea fixings to be honest Overall tho i am impressed at what you get for yer money (£119)...  One final note, MODEL SHOPS (not all of them) try and be a bit more helpful than, nahh sorry aint built one or we dont stock em!! oh really so me clicking on buy on YOUR website means i bought it from the Man in the Moon, but you kept the money...way to go Sussex Models!  Edited By Mark Rowse on 01/02/2012 12:41:45
