Pick a Plane 2011 - chat and FW-190 build
CARBON_ROD replied to David Ashby - Moderator's topic in All Things Model Flying
I Wasn'T trying to disrespect any of the aircraft from ww2 ,just that were ever you go in the modeling world all you see is s/fires,Hurricanes,Lancs etc And yes ! pylon racers ,red bull what have you ,I thought it would be something fresh to get your teeth in to I wasn't reminiscing over old times it just came to me that well! you never see anything like varsity's or val eta ,do you? Of course going right the other way a MILES M18 sounds good !Edited By taildragger on 03/01/2011 13:47:46 -
I wouldn't use any thing other than epoxy for high stress points on your model especially wing joints. And just for normal wood repair a wood adhesive is fine or for a stronger repair cyno is used by most modelers but it is not cheap it is good though.

To get away from the war birds that i feel have been absolutely thrashed .I would like to see some thing not heard of very much IE:Varsity or Valletta.? Both of witch i have flown in as an ATC Cadet at RAF Tangmere which was a navigation school back then. Regards TDEdited By taildragger on 02/01/2011 15:52:23 -

Damn trees are always jumping out at you at critical point when flying ! -
WE were more concerned about our models getting trampled on.

I had my car broken in to ,only had it a day some one put the driver side window in, I new who it was and told the police but they showed up about a week later to take finger prints nothing ever came of it except i was down £120 for a new window and that happen twice by the way , Police don't want to know . But if you got a balled tyre or go over the speed limit they will get you for it because they get your money . -
Well ! We did have the odd day when sun did come out UM,UM,UM!can't remember the exact dates ,But believe me it was sunny.

While down at the patch on a nice sunny day last summer 3or 4 of us were taking a minute from flying just sat around talking ,when somebody said WATCH OUT.we all looked across the patch and the biggest bull i have ever seen came out of a corn field and on to our patch we noticed he was trying to get to some heifers on the opposite side , he didn't show any sign of being aggressive to us so we just let it go and informed the farmer who owns our patch .

Steve , Just been watching the video ,what a gang of idiots ,Hope you are ok and the model ,I know it makes you as bad as them BUT if the police are not interested I think i personallyi would find out who they are and give them a sever talking to the only way they deserve, But i hasten to add that;s me.. I wish you good luck mate . TDEdited By Tim Mackey - Administrator on 07/12/2010 14:24:19 -
