  1. There is a series of instructional videos on You Tube. They will tell you how to program the receivers. But by default they are a standard 9 channel reciever and will work as such without any programming https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3xicOtuJ602kOPBWj-RshoLuMZKu_Gi1 I hope this link works, if not search for Spectrum AS3X and you should find them. there are 16 videos to watch. they are made by Horizon Hobbys and are very good. I assume you have a programming cable........

With a PC, first plug the USB cable into the laptop/pc, then plug the cable into the receiver, then power on the receiver. Any other order it won't work. You should see confirmation in the top right corner of the Spektrum programmer screen as you make each connection. This different to the iPhone/Android sequence, this requires the lead plugging into the receiver first, then power the receiver, then connect to the phone/tablet headphone socket. Good Luck Ill try when i get home from work, I'm not very hopefully as it connects to my IPad first time every time. As i thought, didn't work......... a while ago when i mentioned this to one of our club members he suggested that it could be the cable that s to fault. he had heard that the early cables had some reported problems. and mine is one of the early ones and was free with my AR636. im scratching my head here.

  4. Posted by Mystar on 09/08/2016 18:14:44: The Spektrum AR6260, AR6100e are now discontinued t I am pretty sure that the AR6260 is still available. It's a great receiver, but it might be a bit big for a DLG although it does come with an optional soft case that would get the size down. Steve Apologias, you are right it is still listed on the Spektrum web site, i only said what i said because a member of staff at one of the well know model shops told me they had been discontinued. The AR6260 is listed as a Carbon Fuz receiver, and i would have to remove the case to make it fit. I have now ordered an orange receiver from hobby king so we'll see how that goes. Thanks for all you help and will let you know the outcome

i cant program my AS3X receivers with my IPhone 6s and my laptop. I connect the cable, do everything it says i should do, just keeps saying no device connected. I can however program the receivers with my old third generation Ipad. tried to phone Horizon hobby but since they have closed down their UK operation you get no reply from e-mail or phone. i thought it might be a software problem, so i down loaded the latest software from the Spektrum web site which only came out in June this year and it still didn't work. My partner has an android phone and tablet would these work better Can anyone help, has anyone had similar problems to me
  6. The Spektrum AR6260, AR6100e are now discontinued the AR400 wont fit when you plug the servos in because the sockets are on top of the receiver instead of on the end, im going to phone Hyperflight and let them know so they can change their web site. i was looking at some of the small receivers from Hobby King, are these any good? are there any Stockest of the Lemon receiver in the uk or is it mail order from the US only
  7. Thank you for that i do have one other thing i need to ask, I treated myself to an ELF Disc Launch Glider for my birthday so i need a very small receiver to go in it. It seems that all the receivers that Spekrum used to make that i could have used are now discontinued. looks like i'm going to have to go for a third party receiver, but which one Any advice would be very helpful
  8. I have just purchased two AR9350 AS3X receivers, i went to register them on the their web site but it has asked for the serial numbers, there are no serial numbers on them. Also they come with two remote receivers, but it does not tell you in the instructions which of the four 4pin sockets on the side of the main receiver you plug them into. the sockets are labeled as follows....... 1. VOLT, 2. RPM or TEMP, 3. B, and 4. L Any ideas chaps
  9. Over the past couple of years I've been building a TopFlite Sea Fury (I'm a very slow builder) this is the first proper kit I've done (always been an ARTF man in the past) ive very nearly finished the airframe. i needed to make a decision on how i would cover it, now i know all the scale boys would say glass cloth and spray, but ive never done this before and was also worried about the weight. i decided in the end to go with film covering. i sourced some flat Dove Gray and Insignia Blue Monokote from a UK supplier. i also tried to get hold of the matching spray paint but no one in this country stocks it. i had a think and remember reading somewhere about using colour matched tester pots from B&Q, so took some of the covering along and got two perfectly matched pots of matt emulsion paint. Now this is the question:- i have a fibre glass cowl and various ABS parts that will need painting, and again i read somewhere that when spraying with this paint it will need thinning. the thinning agent it suggests was either Halfords screen wash or window cleaner. but what proportion? also could you recommend a good primer for the job
  10. Gary i am building the this aircraft myselft, I have the plans but I am using photo copies for the build, I could get another set of photo copies and send you those if you like. Are you intending to use the fixed undercarriage, if so I can send you the fixed ones as I have already installed retracts
  11. I was looking through the app store on my ipad and found a RCM&E app, very excited that i can now take my RCM&E collection with me anywhere i down loaded the app. I put my subsciption details in and it booted out with the words invalid user name and password, if this is not just an error dose it mean that if i want to store copies of the mag on my ipad i have got to pay again.
  12. I would be very interested in the Mk 9 Spitfire
  13. Posted by Mark Powell 2 on 05/08/2012 08:22:03: Posted by Andy Ennis on 05/08/2012 00:41:33: "I'm sorry, but I think the SC70 will be too small for the TopFlite Spit.....and these kits are notorious for building heavier than their quoted weight. TF quote a finished weight of 7.5 to 8.5 pounds, but the reality is going to much closer to 10 or 10.5 pounds" You are so right. Mine, with an OS 81 came out at 10.5 lbs, including retracts, flaps, the cockpit kit (very poor) and 14 oz of lead in the nose. It's a poor kit anyway. The wing is far too thick for realism, much of the balsa was either rock hard (Admiral Nelson would have been proud of it) or too soft to be useable. And does it really need 3/8 sq hardwood main spars?. It did not bother me, I am pretty experienced, but joining the wings to the centre section is impossible if you obey the instructions, the supplied fixed undercarriage wires (I used retracts) have the inside end pointing the wrong way, down instead of up, and it has detailed fabric covered ailerons whereas the real ones are metal covered. I have flown it a few times, but it is too heavy. I am now using the plan as a basis for a much lighter one. If you must build one of these poor kits, lighten the tail end as much as possible, and get rid of the ridiculous main spars. Topflite stuff is heavy, heavy, heavy. I was tempted by the twin Cessna 310 ARTF, (love the plane but couldn't be bothered to draw up a plan myself) but when even they admit to 20 plus pounds for its mere 81 inch span I gave up the idea in disgust. It would end up as a 'Hanger Queen' like the Spitfire. Mark Sorry you have had a bad experiance with Top Flite kits, i am curently building a TF Sea Fury and over the years i have flown many TF models, all of them have flown very well. Any model will come out heavy if you slap on lot of glue and paint and don't take care when you build it. I have found the kit i have is very good, i am half way through the build and have been weighing each of the sub assemblies and have been happy with the weight of them whithout modification. Anyway back to this thread, i think for small/medium sports models electric is ideal, but for scale warbirds I.C. is the only way to go for me. I am putting a Saito 115 in my Sea Fury. lovely engine, sounds great and best of all it will fit in the cowel of the Sea Fury with nothing pocking out
  14. I am using a Saito 115 in my Top Flite Sea Fury, I would think it would fit in a Spit cowl very nice
