Lovely civilian aircraft the Cherokee flying earlier today at the club.

Thats a shame Toto that your not getting out flying tomorrow. The weather dictates a lot of things revolving around our lives. The forecast is good for here so I've got the Cherokee on the charger.

I never knew that photo existed until a friend gave it to me two weeks ago. I was learning to fly a Yamamoto Trainer with an OS 40 two stroke. That was nearly 40 years ago Toto. Where does time go, it flys by quickly. Yes the Foster Grants came in handy on sunny days lol and Top of the Pops was not to be missed on Thursday nights lol. The 80s had it all. Cheers. Regards Aidan

This was my first taste of the sky Toto learning to fly in the summer of 1986.

Second flight of the Avistar Elite

Second flight Toto of the Avistar Elite.

Yes Toto, they definitely do their job.
-
The flaps are very effective and slowed the plane down nicely.

Thanks Toto, will pass on thanks to Aidan on the camera who did a good job. I was flying around at half throttle for most of the flight and three quarters throttle on take off.

Maiden flight of my new plane The Avistar Elite.

Maiden flight Toto of the Avistar.

Excellent Toto. Well done on a successful maiden flight of the Super Cub. That's a possitive step in the right direction and will help aid your confidence to future flights. Always a good feeling Toto when a plane makes it into the air for the first time and flys well and lands well. Good on you and keep up the good fight and just think of the weather improving as the year goes on and all the many more trips you will make to the flying field for many more successful and enjoyable flying experiences.

Good luck tomorrow Toto and have an enjoyable day.

You will love flying with flaps Toto. The Avistar Elite is a heavy plane but with flaps deployed when landing it really does help slow it down . The wingspan on this plane is 62.5 inches.

Had the maiden flight today of my new plane the Avistar Elite. Flew lovely and landed nicely with the flaps deployed. -
Had the maiden flight today of the Avistar Elite. Really nice flying plane and the flaps really help to slow it down on landings. The Saito 72 is the perfect match.

Toto, flight report as promised . I'm happy to report that the maiden flight today of the Avistar went swimmingly well and the plane arrived home again in one piece. Its a really nice flying machine and the flaps really do help slow it down on landing. The Saito 72 is the perfect match for it. Aidan the cameraman took a short video of each one of the three flights and when I get it sorted out tomorrow I will send you the footage. Cheers and happy landings.

Thanks Toto

Good stuff Toto. Hope you get a few flights under your belt come Saturday. Tomorrow afternoon I am having the maiden flight of the Avistar and have arranged with my good friend also called Aidan to come and video it.

Was listening to a tribute on the radio today for the magnificent Steve Wright. I loved his show on Radio 2 which ran for years. They played a selection of some of his favourite songs which included "Africa" by none other than the pop group Toto which went to the top of the charts in the early 1980s.

Thanks Mike. I'm looking forward to flying it.

The Avistar is now ready for its maiden flight. Hopefully sometime within the next couple of weeks.
