  1. This takes me back I had the 50" version with galloping ghost using the rand analogue servo and a OS15 up front, this was the start of real controlled model flying for me.
  2. Looks like one of the best mass build events ever, also great video work the finish on all models is first class. Well done Phil/Matt for a first class design.
  3. What a great turnout and only two had the same colour scheme, that is something special!! I'm sorry that I could not make it down this time due to old man problems, it comes to us all in time. Sunday's weather looked great did all the Sky Hawks fly, was there a max number in the air at the same time? Thanks for the video at least I feel as though I was there in spirit A well there is still one more event for the year hope to get down for that one. Andy C
  4. Nice to meet with you in person Pete sorry about the jibe in Phil's blogg, see you in June. Also the model turned great might just try this method some time.
  5. Hi Phil I was well please and chuffed with the turn out of Tonkas on display, and all successful maiden flights just annoyed that I never managed to have mine finished on time but will be ready for the June event. Nice to meet Pete and Steve in person, and find out the truth in the weight loss on his Tonka must have been all the micro balloons used must try that stuff some time.
  6. Rez: Yes used pic that Matt posted stuck onto clear plastic then used the large LED that comes with lighting system from H/K. also LED strip which can be cut to size required. Phil: Tailpipes can be used in both as as the outlet for EDF is only 40mm. dia same as Sea Vixen. Thanks Matt but I will wait to see what you get upto next.
  7. I LIKE!!!!! just can't keep up with you
  8. I have changed my layout for the reheat as can be seen this a strip led cut to fit inside Rez's jet outlets these reflect onto white paper. Also decided to light up the instruments after Matt: posted cabin pics
  9. Pete: I've never had the fin come off inflight and that was without any magnets, but as others were showing concern I put one on my build to show how I went about it. Your build is coming along faster than mine also like your display in the back seat.
  10. Steve: the heaviest was over 5lb. but a lot larger and still flew well but no swing wing. Phil: the one in the photo is only a trial fit of the wing mechanism, this be used in the GR1. EDF/PSS version more on that later. As can be seen in the picture the wing is not fully swept as this fuselage requires a different layout.
  11. Steve: no need to apologize, I'm just fair chuffed that many have come on board with their builds thanks to Phil. Way back in the 90's I had a fixation on the Tornado and built about 6 all different sizes, and rest of our club would say not another one Andy. Now I'm 75 and Phils got me building another two.
  12. Looking good Steve, remember it's not full scale but what it looks like in the air who's going to spot the difference anyway,  I also like the Blue Peter approach but that  3D printing sure is good. Peter don't worry about the weight within reason, you have take into account all that area of the fuselage in the center section trust me on that, be more concerned with the drag factor so weight for kinetic energy and some wind.
