  1. my club did this back in june last year. It is now one of the club rules that you can only use receivers that are the same make as your transmitter. Tony B
  2. I need to paint the white squares on the centre section and then give everything a second coat before i paint the wings silver. Tomorrow i hope to cover the sides and top of the fuselage, finish the elevators and get them covered as well. we plod on slowly Tony B
  3. Started some painting, slowly getting there. Tony B
  4. The covering has started, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep otherside tomorrow, then i can do the silk. Tony B
  5. but there an awfull lot of them Martyn will be interesting to compare weights at some point. Tony B
  6. "N" struts are made from balsa, using the brass supplied. Even though i have used a fair amount of Depron in my build, i expect the weight will be about the same as the all balsa ones. mainly because of all the 3d printed details i have added. Ailerons are now all wired in and working. I plan to start covering the upper wing panels tomorrow, if i get the chance that is. still not sure on how to work the elevators yet, i will have to put my thunking cap on. Tony B
  7. "N" struts made, just need to pin the joints and sand to profile. I can now get the aileron servo's fitted and working, well i would but my spectrum rx is not working. i will use an orange one to set everything up while i save for a new spectrum rx. Tony B
  8. well i chucked it all together this afternoon and started on the wing struts. bit of a fiddly job, but having a one piece lower wing helped no end. one side bodged up and now ready to be finished off. will do the other side tomorrow, just got to get both sides the same. eeeep. we plod on slowly. aiming for an end of march finish... i hope Tony B
  9. Upper wings now fit. hopefully tomorrow i can fit the lower wing and take a look at the struts. Tony B
  10. I have been playing with ailerons. i hinged my differently to every one else, but they seem to work. one outer panel ready to have the servo fitted, will finish the other one tomorrow...i hope. Tony B
  11. don't forget the rivets sir. even if there is no static judging, it will need rivets. Tony B
  12. lovely work as usual sir. bit too complicated for me . works well. Tony B
  13. i have done my different to every body i think. i have used pin hinges in resessed slots cut into the aileron leading edge. looks to be working ok and the gaps are even and reasonably small. Tony B
  14. ooh. i shall watch how you do it with great interest. not started my ailerons yet. Tony B
  15. working on the upper wing centre section today. i am hoping to get the centre section finished tomorrow and then it is ailerons and fitting out Tony B
  16. lovely work as usual Danny. the master strikes again. Tony B
  17. wonderful news young sir. glad to have you back. Tony B
  18. foil work done. now while it does not look as good as litho plate, i think it will do me. next job is to make up all the removable panels, louves and stick them on, plus rivets and fixings and....eeeeeeeeeeeeep. will it ever end. Tony B
  19. glad i went for brass and steel for my wing joiners. the rest of the wing looks fantastic sir. Tony B
  20. started the other side this evening. I marked up the panel lines with black marker pen. Then i cut the tape to match the lines, overlapping each section of tape until the panel is completed. the next panel is started just to the edge of the black line, leaving a small gap between the panels. the black in the gap then highlights the panels...i hope. we plod on Tony B
  21. Remind me to never do a biplane again, especially one that is polished aluminium. sticking chrome tape to depron is not easy as the surface is not firm enough. looks ok from a distance though. Tony B
  22. sheeted the section of fuselage between the cabanes and then covered it with chrome tape. not great, but looks ok from a distance. i have also been filling the hole in the underside of the nose. the hole was left so i could wire up the motor, but now that is done and working i have filled it. will sand it all down tomorrow and get it ready for covering. we plod on Tony B
