  1. yep, managed an hour with my balsa acrowot. Windy but still good to get out and have a go. Three of us in the end flying. Good job they turned up, got stuck in the mud by our cabin.
  2. Hi Eric, Flew mine with a 3s 5000mah lipo and still needed 3oz in the nose. Looks lovely in the air and sounds nice too. Run 10x7 three bladers on mine(contra) giving 635w @58amps. Auw is 4lb9oz. Floats nice and landings. Time wise I'm getting around 8-10mins off the lipo with mixed throttle. I also opened up the nacell strut leg holes to allow the legs to bend a little and allow access to remove the struts if needed. The commended throws are spot on. Don't be fooled thinking the elevator needs more movement, i think the direct prop wash from each motor gives the elevator plenty of authority.
  3. Hi David, A little better I think. Still quite a few errors and probably only half way through. Nothing major but not what you'd expect to be honest. Most noticible was the position of the elevator/rudder servos in relation the pre-installed push rod tubes. The instructions say one position but the tubes say another. Servos needed swapping around to marry up to there repsective tubes. No steering pushrod in the kit either, which luckily I had some spare rods to do the job. I'll put in more details to follow and highlight pitfalls and alterations I've done.
  4. Hi Folks, Anyone built one of these and run electric. I know RCM&E reviwed one but not an electric version. Half way through mine and would be intersted in any views/thoughts on the build
  5. Kits well on the way to completion. Running a 4130-12 on 6s with a 60 amp esc on a 14x7 3 blade. Powers touching 1150w @ 40 amps so should be fine. Estimated AUW will be around 8-8.5 lb hopefully. Willm put some pics up later. Andy
  6. Has anyone built and flown one yet. Due to pick mine up next week and run electric. Would be interested on any feedback good or bad. Andy
  7. Hi Bill, no didn't bother. Have tried Ripmax in the past for various things and the after care I think is appalling.
  8. Hill bill, The two wing decals would not part from the backing at all. Tried everything to get them free and they just ripped. I did notice that the back of them had a water mark/stain of some sort
  9. Hi Redex, My motor is a pulso 4130-16 395kv. Stonking bit of kit and good value @£98 with a 2 yr warrenty. It will swing a 17 + prop no probs. Sounds lovely on a 16x8 and pulling 40amps wot so its not stressed or getting even warm. Got four of these motors and can honestly say they are brilliant.
  10. Superb flying today, tried full rates on it it really becomes manoeuvrable. Will go vertical no probs Getting about 13/14mins out of the 5000mah lipos. I brilliant kit.
  11. Hi Taj, No maiden, winds and rain made the strip a nightmare. Manage to get some taxi trials in today and was ok. No shortage of power and its seemed quite lively. Looks like Saturday will be best weather wise. Andy
  12. Acro's now finished awaiting maiden. Auw is 7lb 4oz. Wot is 946w @42amps. This running on 6s 5000mah and a 16x8 APC. Couple pic's as promised.       Edited By Steve Hargreaves - Moderator on 28/12/2012 22:25:10

  16. Hi Folks, Couple of pics of my foamie at our local club. Cracking model and an excellent flyer. Shame the decals were not up to scratch hence the thunderbolt design. Hope you like them. Andy

  21. Mine's going well so far on the leccy conversion. Tight fit dropping the 6s5000mah down inside the radio bay but it goes. Will post some pics of my sliding tray once its done and works. Just got decide how the lipos should lie once inside the tank bay(on top or side by side). Measurement wise there's little difference but it looks more stable side by side. My 4130-16 pulso fits perfect using an old modified Kyosho mount. With the cowl on its just right. Andy
